Mine was on the ride to and from Dreux as the skies opened, I felt my bib shorts start to unstick where they had fused to my skin. I prayed the whole way from Dreux to Paris that I wouldn't get a P* . Hadnt seen anyone repair one for the whole ride until it started to rain, then every other person seemed affected.

Supposed to be taking it easy and tapering before RoF this weekend but still running my commute. Had someone in black on my shoulder (my conscience?) last night along the Embankment and couldn't shake him off until Stockwell and then only by crossing road Frogger style. However this resulted in PB, running 7 1/2 min/mile instead of my normal 9 1/2 plod. Super scared about prospect of 135 miles.

"Their facilities are available to all racers " Therefore its in the ethos of the rules, as I understand them. Objections to outside support are on the basis that it gives an unfair advantage -particularly to local competitors.
Although its all a bit ad hoc, the organisers decision is final/ Rule 1 is no bitching about the rules etc.
Adds to its charm in my opinion. -

RoF was tough, its a bitch of a course. Curled up on a pavement and slept at 3am on the Sunday morning, so 100 miles out of 135 done. Not overly disappointed to DNF as I learnt a lot that I will put into practise for the Spine.
Mainly about fueling which is very different to cycling - in that you avoid eating anything of substance as your body just rejects it. I was pleased with my night time navigation. But it was too soon after PBP, I felt mentally drained. There's a lot of love in this race though, the organisers are super friendly so will definitely have another go next year.
