I'm saying nothing because I jinxed PBP by saying that nightime temps would be 18 degs C +. This resulted in freezing fog.

Prob not- advantage of warm clothing is that you can wear it on the bike if it gets super cold too. But I'm doing the Spine Race in January so do need a bad for that.

Ok- nipped over to Cotswold Camping/ Northface at lunch they have heavier ones- probably gross weight with packaging. Good point that West will be colder, altitude in Colarado particularly even in June. Going Wesr - East means warm clothing/ bag can be jettisoned or sent home as soon as its no longer needed.

200g, 300g and 1 kilo? Thinking about it if some sort of shelter is found then complete waterproof resistance is not required. Pertex wins.

Hmm those emergency bivvy bags are really designed for one use only and wont stand much abuse plius they will leave you soaking wet by morning from condensation. Whereas the pertex bags whilst breathable aren't waterproof. I'm thinking goretex bivvy for durability.
