I ride through that every day...if you use the shared use path to the left on your picture then you should have no problems with cars; likewise the segregated cycle lane in the opposite direction. It's a bit baffling that they should put up so many signs telling drivers what to do but then not really give a shit about enforcing it, especially on a blind rise like this bridge, which becomes really dangerous at the speed a lot of drivers like to drive at!
With regards to council enforcement versus police enforcement...last summer a house opposite mine had a VERY loud party...no problem in the evening, it was a weekend, fair enough. Then the music continued beyond midnight until about 3am, at which point we called the police about it (grumpy old farts etc.). They drove by the house and told us that they couldn't do anything about it as the people having the party were indoors and not on the street, therefore it was the council who should enforce the noise complaint. Looked online for a number for the council; called it; offices closed until Monday. Useless. Went back to bed, and eventually got to sleep.

Sounds like the other SQT sessions which are split with the sprinters (20mins on/10mins off) are a better bet. Guess I shouldn't be so lazy and take my rollers along to stay warm too!
I did the session at 10am on Sunday...didn't feel like I was able to push as hard as usual as we did two team pursuit drills so had to adjust pace to keep the groups together. Still good fun mind...

3T Aduro no? As per P5?

Don't like it as much as Dowsett's Canyon, but that doesn't mean it isn't fast!

Can't help but think it will be possible for people to hack their timid robocars to make them more aggressive - everything else gets hacked and derestricted, regardless of what the law says. There's bound to be some who think they're important enough that they need to get places faster than anyone else.

One question...why the discrepancies in various peoples GI calculations? I know it changes with tyre/wheel size etc., but for the example of 49x15, if we assume 700c wheels and 23mm tyres, I get 85.93 on every calculator I try...I have to put down 32mm tyres to get close - don't really see them on track! In another example, 50x15 is oft quoted as 90 inches, while I always get 87.68.
Anyhow, I haven't changed sprocket or chainring in months (47x14, 88.3GI by my reckoning!) so I guess it doesn't matter!

FTP test done...263W...and a quick glance at the numbers for my favourite workout, Downward Spiral, shows me that yes, it will be brutal. Don't know whether to start with one of the base plans first, or just pick and choose. I don't have any particular goals at the moment except fun, pain, and increased fitness, although long term I will be aiming for track league next winter (too busy with family stuff this winter!).

Apparently they can, but it just looks like a Tarmac with track ends...

Oddly enough I think Keisse was riding DF3s around the time of his ban, but then had to switch to that Specialized when he returned for OPQS.

Guess they felt they couldn't compete anymore on that frame, so got the ok to use the Dolans.

I ride 88 inches and it's about right for me, but it depends more on what you're comfortable with...
Did a devil for the first time at the end of tonight's SQT. I must say that that is much harder than any scratch race I've done as it seems to need constantly good positioning - just hiding in the bunch doesn't work as the bunch is constantly coming over the top of you!

That race was great entertainment...the guy on the red PX made a small attack at 5 laps to go and no-one chased...seemed more concerned with marking each other. The camera should've stayed on him because he was really suffering; weaving about a bit on the last lap. He deserved the win, too bad he got pipped on the line.

I'd go for that if I hadn't just booked a bunch of SQTs up until the end of March as it seems they're going fast...on the other hand they also now seem to have Intermediate SQTs available to book which have a lot more availability. Also, I'm liking the shift to morning sessions that they seem to have made...

I made a few enquiries to local clubs about that recently...only one I found was http://www.cyclingclubhackney.co.uk

Just back from tonight's SQT. After the usual 15min warmup we did pyramid intervals (30s on/off, 1min, 1m30s, 2min, 1m30s, 1min, 30s) and then rolling team pursuit. Finished with a 30 lap scratch. Best set was the pyramid intervals, which were very hard work, but the rolling pursuit probably wasn't hard enough as we only got to do 4/5 hard laps...would've preferred trains and stations where we'd get 2 or 3 4 lap efforts. The efficiency of the session was better than the previous SQTs I'd done too, with no wasted track time. Didn't have anything left in the tank to go with the final attack at 3 laps to go in the scratch - my endurance needs work, especially considering I felt like I'd been pretty efficient throughout the race.
Also, I don't think there we're any no shows tonight - felt pretty busy with 20 riders, I presume the limit is 24 like in the leagues?

Figured I should actually add my name to the list, although if it gets too long I'd be happy to make way for someone who isn't accredited yet.

Great win...Gaviria was smashing it at the track world cup in London in December too...saw him on the Saturday place well in the scratch race and then take apart Jon Dibben in the IP. Won omnium gold for the weekend so a strong rider with all round abilities.
