Couple of years ago there was a tree felled on the way to work, blocking the road. Got off bike and hopped onto the pavement for a good pic, when I'm suddenly interrupted by someone hitting the horn. Turn around and a car is on the pavement, angrily gesturing at me to get out of the way and let them though.
Yes, dear reader, in the case of the road being blocked, they drove straight up onto the pavement and were pushing through peds walking along the pavement.

Mate of mind who is firmly in the true blue Tory forever mindset, in spite f literally having fuck all, has a stock answer for NHS when I point out he's supporting its dismantling and is highly likely to need it at some point.
"People have been moaning about the NHS for years. Still there ain't it?"
I expect for many Tory voting NHS using people, that's their viewpoint too. It'd have to be totally collapsed and shut down before they consider what's happening to it. Bit fucking late then though.

Bikes fucked due to the fall the other day, gearing right out. Had to spin it all the way up to the shop for repair. On Wandsworth Common, some womans dog tore out in front of me with about half a metre to spare. As I've WOAH! and stopped, then started off again, she piped up with the typical "you cyclists are a menace, this is a park, you should SLOW DOWN" indignant Major Misunderstanding face. Considering I was going about three miles an hour, I pointed out that I wasn't speeding at all and how would she know, considering she was picking up dog shit at the time?
Then got the "well you shouldn't be here in the first place" lecture, so pointed out the massive Shared Cycle/Ped sign right next to her and, why yes, I am allowed here thank you. And never mind it was your dog that actually caused this, eh?
Then she got really snooty and started with the sarky "have a nice xmas eh?", so got told exactly where to go.
Typical blame everyone else I'm always in the right you know, yes I am the epitome of English good manners, you people shouldn't be here in the first place motherfucker.

Quite like this new jumper, but £250 is a bit optimistic at the moment. Perhaps if in a future sale

Lovely ride, took it easy, layered just right. Until the Lambeth Walk/Juxon St corner by Pimlico Plumbers where there was a double patch of ice and I came off - mashed the elbow and hip up. OTHER elbow and hip as the other one is mashed up from a tumble last week.
Spotted the first patch, trundled around it, but there was a second one lurking on the outside that got me. As I was fixing the bike, someone else came around the corner so I hollered to be careful as theres a double patch, she slowed down then slipped off in the exact same spot. As I helped her to her feet, she was glad I'd said and could slow down accordingly. Unhurt, luckily.
Arm hurt like fuck on the rest of the journey in - twitches in the hand. Leaving half hour early to be able to take it easy on the way back.
Boss - "most importantly.............how was the bike? Is it okay?". We got priorities here.
Speaking of surreal..........I was waiting at the lights in the car, first in the queue, when a scooter suddenly skids past me pulling a wheelspin at top speed, then burns rubber in front of us with smoke and the like everywhere, then pulls off at top speed through the red light, weaves over the crossroad between the cars coming across his path and rips off up the road.
This, at 5.30 on a rainy sunday night!
Hopefully that yellow "traffic incident" sign thats appeared up the road a bit is related to him.
