Selling my much loved Surly LHT Frameset. It is the 26" wheel version in blue and is in near mint condition, having been heli-taped from day one. The tubes have been treated with Waxoyl internally too.
It will come fitted with a silver Chris King headset. The only issue, if you can even call it that, is that during the application of the heli-tape, I had to make an adjustment and the "long haul trucker" and "fatties fit fine" logo's came off of the top tube and chainstays, otherwise there is nothing at all wrong with it.
I am only selling it as I ride either 54 or 56cm frames and went for the larger of the options when building this and I am going to build another one in the smaller size.£300 + p&p or collection from Royston.

Well, it's currently got Mavic CXP30 rims on, which are V section rims. When I first saw them, I immediately thought they were reminiscent of Shamal's.
I don't necessarily want or need it to be 100% period correct, just there or thereabouts. The new hubs will be bang on and I was thinking that the look of the Archetypes would suffice. -
Okay, the next question is more about aesthetics; the Colnago is the blue colour with chrome precisa forks and silver Campag components.
Which rim colour do you think would suit the bike most - the polished silver or grey? Looking at pictures online, they both look good, but some pics make the polished silver look a bit too much maybe, like they are TOO polished? But some pictures look amazing in polished. -

I have recently acquired a mid-nineties Colnago Master which was in very good condition to begin with, but I have steadily been putting my stamp on it, largely making it period correct-ish & standardising the mish-mash of Campagnolo components that were on it (Record Titanium rear mech, Veloce cranks, Daytona front mech, Chorus Ergo shifters) so that it is now Record throughout.
Currently, the wheels are Campag hubs (which I don't know how to identify) on Mavic CXP30 rims. I serviced the bearings & they feel pretty good, but I want to do the project properly, so I have managed to find NOS Record hubs - 36/32.
I want to keep the Mavic wheels intact & with these new hubs, have a second set of wheels, which I will learn how to build myself.
So, finally to the point! What rims would you recommend I use? They don't have to be period or racy as I will mainly use the bike when its done, for Sunday best, perhaps even a fair weather Audax.
I'm a fairly stout chap, more barrel chested than actually fat, so I need something strong.I currently only have H Pus Son rims on my list.
Will these do? Are they as brilliant as I'm led to believe? Would you recommend something else, and why?

I've just acquired a lovely early nineties Colnago Master and I've spent some time making it my own.
I've never ridden with Campag before this, having been a Shimano man since day one and the levers seem to operate completely differently to STI.
The bike has an 8 speed Record cassette and I was told by the seller, 9 speed Chorus Ergo levers. But with the way they ratchet, how do I tell if my levers are I deed 9 speed? Or, more accurately, if I wanted to replace my current levers with newer versions of Ergo's that I know say 9 speed on them, will they be compatible with the 8 speed cassette?

I'm thinking of possibly selling my beloved Long Haul Trucker. It is in MINT condition as the frame has been heli-taped from day one. It is also treated internally with Waxoyl.
The frame will come with a silver Chris King headset fitted. It is the blue colour frameset. The only issue, if you can even call it that, is that when applying the heli-tape, the words "Long Haul Trucker" on the top tube, came off when adjusting the tape placement. Likewise, the words "Fatties Fit Fine" on the chainstays have been removed; even though the stays are taped, I thought that particular logo looked tacky, so removed them on purpose.Only reason for (possible) sale: I ride either a 54 or 56cm frame and when I built this bike, I plumped for the larger of the two. As my Surly is my go-to bike of my collection, I am going to build another one using a 54cm frame & I want to be sure I can move this one on without fuss.
The bike was bought from Triton Cycles in October 2013 & has done about 2000 miles, but I repeat, is in mint condition. You might even think the bike is unused!
I will be looking for offers of around £400 for frameset & headset and would prefer collection from Royston in Hertfordshire or I could post at buyers expense.

I have started a Colnago project & want to put a nice stem on it.
I dont know how well regarded the ITM Eclypse stem is, but it is what I used to race with when they first came out & I'd like to relive a memory by having it on the project.Alternatively, any blingy stem that would look good on a Master frame.

Are those Swissstop pads just the inserts, or the holders as well?
If they are the holders, I'll have 'em.
