Labour take both Tamworth and mid beds.
Tamworth was much closer than I expected, low turn out but only 1500 ish votes in it and reform and BF and Tory vote would have taken the seat. Lib Dem’s only 417 votes.
Mid beds was the Tory’s 33 safest seat and it’s gone. Itll go back in the general election. I saw an interesting statistic regarding mid beds it has the highest proportion mortgage holders in the country.

I know this is just a degree of copium on my part but if the worse happens and Labour and the Lib Dems knock each other out hopefully it should focus there minds for the general election and by the sound of it there are only about 5, 3 ways marginals in the country and they won't be on the lib dems target list.
also we're taking about 2 seats where the tory's have 2ok and 24k majorities, these seat shouldn't be up for grabs under an circumstances.
-
yeah I heard that too, tory got to tory etc
Its also byelection day, both sound like there very much on a knife edge, especially mid Beds. it looks like a genuine 3 way marginal with the Tory's and Labour both on 29% and lib dems on 22% in the last poll. There are mixed reports around the Lib dem tactics in the early days they where really going for it, however in the last 10 days it seams they've been more focused on campaigning in tory areas.

Tories gonna Tory
Yeah Rishi was asked about this in PMQ, he basically just agreed with the comments.
There a bit of a Bone update, he's lost the party whip and he's going to argue that because the thing that he didn't do, don't happened before the change in the rules around recall petitions it shouldn't apply to him. Apparently the argument isn't totally without merit. so it looks like he's going to try and hang around.

He's there because he wants his place in the history books as being the first PM of asian descent. But he's not above just filling his family's pockets, see his wife's child care company, the massive infosys BP deal just before we opened up the northsea oil and gas licences. He's hanging around to try and get the India trade deal over the line which I'm sure his family will do very nicely out of.

simply being gay, or a woman should not by itself be enough to gain protection under international refugee laws - Suella Braverman
go to hell you vile woman
less that 4% of asylum claims mention sexuality, its just more tory culture war bollocks. She really is vile, she's my MP, there's zero hope of her being voted out, the people of Fareham are equally as vile.

Polls showing that 60+% want us to rejoin the EU let alone the Customs Union.
Yeah things are improving, there are some nuances in the polls. I'm not sure the public at large are ready for the debit to happen again yet.
My hope is that we get 10 years of Labour largely undoing the damage by a lining standards and have more and more sector deals. The Torys will go even more mental for the next election #braverman for leader, they'll loss again and come back with a cameron type who wants to rejoin EU.
The EU aren't going to talk about us rejoining until the Tory's are back on side, it has to be a totally settled debit in this country. Hopefully we'll have PR by then and the current brand of hard right tory will be locked out of power forever.

Do we think that Starmers insistence that we're not going to join 'the' customs union is cover for having 'a' customs union, you know, bespoke etc., part of the 2025 renegotiation, give notice on the CPTPP.
The Torys are going to keep kicking the can down the road on customs / standards checks because they know anything that goes wrong will largely be covered for by their press and from there perspective it a nice can of worms to leave for Labour to deal with.
Labour won't have that cover and if anything happens they will crucified.
So they've binned there policy around housing developers not having to pay to deal with the waste water. It turns out that it was really unpopular when they where canvassing in the last 2 byelections, along with cancelling HS2 but that's a bit too big to u turn on.
I thought they focus grouped this type of thing first.
