Hello there,
I've finally made up my mind to sell my track bike. It's been gathering dust for a while and although I used it a bit this summer I know I won't be riding it anytime soon.
I bought it from the forum in August 2009 and rode it a lot until about a year ago. The frame is very nice and very light, with trademark wraparound seatstays, very nice lugs and shimano dropouts. Made from 531c steel according to the guy that sold it to me. The fork isn't original: Hackney council bent that one but I got a nice Tange replacement, also with shimano dropouts. Comes with a Campag record headset and a shimano bottom bracket.
Seat tube masures 55cm c-t, top tube is 56cm c-c.It has the usual marks here and there although the coat of paint seems to be very thick and it hasn't chipped anywhere EXCEPT where, like a numpty, I ran a road chainset and the spider chipped the paint. From the looks of it it's superficial and I never noticed anything strange. I've tried to picture it as best I can.
So, rather than get cold cash for it, I would rather swap it for something that I will use, and an audax/light touring frame would be perfect as long as it is of similar quality. I can throw in the wheels (Gran Compe hubs on Rigida rims,fixed-fixed, 18t Condor cog/15t Dura Ace cog), handlebars (unknown japanese track bars), cinelli stem, system ex seatpost and front brake, dirty harry lever... Pretty much a complete bike minus the chainset, again, for something similar.
Most welcome to come have a look at it (London, N16) or PM me if you have any questions or wold like to see more photos.
Thanks!
Spicep1, what do you mean? I've tried to describe the items accurately and like I said I'd ideally like a trade. I can put a price on it (and I might have to do just that eventually) but I'm not sure how that will help at this point.
I haven't been on the forum for a while and I don't usually sell on here so I'm probably wrong ;)
