Thanks both
I'll certainly do several reps of each test, maybe even work out the mean of all the runs. The test as I imagine it would be: Get to the top of the gentle hill at the industrial estate on a windless day at 20 mph. Stop pedalling at a set point and start a timer. Roll down the other side of the hill until it levels out and I roll to a stop, stop the timer and chalk a line on the floor. Repeat a couple of times. Make setup change, repeat. If the weather changes go home.
That Aerolab stuff looks great, alas I am way, way too lazy to look all that stuff up and do all those calculations. I'm just looking for something slightly better than a subjective feeling in competition which is what my setup is based on so far.

Is there much / any value in a very basic roll-down test to check the advantage between wheels, helmets, positions etc.
Thinking I would fit a freewheel, ride at 20mph then time how long it takes to roll down to 5mph on the same stretch of road. That'll give me some idea as long as it's a still day won't it?

Thanks Xavier I'll have a play with that. I'll have to change the post as that one is at max insertion before the profiled bit. (The post came with the frame)
My thinking was that I need to have my hips forward over the axle to get the power on, as I also find myself in this postion when I hunker down for a big effort on my road bike, though I guess I might be a bit high on that too, given your explanation.

Thought it was easily the most watchable and entertaining in the series so far. Not complex or suspenseful, just a great watch.
Standout for me was the menace and violence from the Stormtroopers when they turned that village over at the start - they were always a bit hapless and cute in the originals.
Thought you could only operate a lightsabre if you were a Jedi. Never expected them to have an on button, thought you switched it on with the force. Disappointed to see any old herbert being able to fuck shit up with one.

Took the advice here and reinstalled my lights. Nice little project - made a bracket to get the lamp out the way of cables which used to cast shadows. Invested in a soldering iron and redid the cabling, running the rear light cable in heatshrink down the front mech cable, along the chainstay and up the rack.
The heatshrink doesnt look as neat as I'd hoped but still much better than before. I'm happier having soldered connections rather than crimps too.

Has the dose dropped a little? Try increasing it and coarsening the grind a touch.
