No space on the return leg though as I plan to stick around in France for a bit after PBP.

I demanded we pull off to the side somewhere between Pewsey and Whitchurch to sit down on a little bit of grass, I simply didn't think I could go on. My arse was blistered, my hands utterly fucked, stomach just about hanging on after the umpteenth Co-op meal deal, everything from my toenails to my neck was aching and I was sleepy. Straight up not having a good time, at all. But a quick rest, snack and some pro plus (thank you YAL!) and I was back in the game, still fucked but ticking along!

It was fun, sometimes Type 2 given a fairly significant headwind. Lot of lanes and not a huge amount of loose stuff but the lanes were lovely and super quiet. With the trains totally fubar I drove and parked up near the Crown Point Tavern in Trowse Newton just a few kms from the start.

First night at the Pig Shed Motel, Castle Acre; banging food at the adjoining George and Dragon. Second night at the Globe Inn, Wells.

Pajero Evolution, proper Dakar pedigree. I was lucky enough to get a ride in one a while back on closed roads. Rapid is a gross understatement!
