Nah, think he was just rightfully cautious on that descent. Couldn't win the Giro there but could 100% lose it. It was on the chasers to take mad risks to eek out seconds, not him.

I completely get where you're coming from, I'm not going to argue with that as I've faced the same from some motorists when on my bike. I just take objection to being demonised (you clearly weren't, I'm talking in general here) for enjoying my car in what I deem to be as responsible a manner as I can. Fast cars and the desire to drive them quickly isn't going to go away any time soon, it's only through education that we can get to the root of the problem. That or ban driving and we all walk/cycle/take driverless Uber-Teslas...

I don't think the two are necessarily mutually exclusive. There are far more damaging things to society and the planet that I could take part in than taking my car to a trackday or enjoying a flowing B Road when the opportunity presents itself to do so.

I almost exclusively walk and cycle Monday to Friday, I have a (fast) car for weekends and other limited use where only a car will do.

Ford Focus would be my bet. Loads of them around, cheap to run and service, practical enough. Petrol 1.6 in the best trim you can find, £5k should get you a 2012 one under 60k miles.

I had mine done at Charlton House on Sunday morning, everyone there seemed to be in the under 40s group and they were using Pfizer. My partner had her two jabs at the same place ages ago (underlying condition) and she had the AZ jab.
Easier for them to just offer a vaccine that isn't mired in controversy and avoid people turning down AZ/requesting alternative, etc.
