@konastab01 - any technical (or other!) information as to why Solar is useless? I'm not looking to try and profit from the grid, rather rely less on it. The aim is not off-grid living, more off-gas, and a little less reliant on bolstering some CEO's bonus.
The house is (I hope) going to be home for @ 20 years, we have mid and long term plans to extend out a little at the back, reinstate a second front door and convert the loft, as it stands though we have finite time and budget to get central heating, a kitchen and bathroom in, and do some other cosmetic things so it's livable for the small boy and nesh girlfriend. It is currently small, and not quite the room we need, which will be addressed - losing more floor space to insulation is not ideal, but I get that its also a waste to not do it.
I had sacked ASHP off as I'm just not sure we'll be able to do everything we want in terms of conversion/extension soon enough to make it worthwhile, and it felt like a waste to insulate a wall when that wall might go, same for upgraded windows (currently bad plastic but double glazed). The house is currently E on the EPC (with potential to be B apparently) so some loft insulation was probably going to be the limit of the heat saving work at this point. I know an electric boiler is more expensive to run than gas, but it feels wrong to just stick a gas boiler in when we are happy to make the compromise over bill price to not have a gas connection, though the solar plan is obviously an effort to offset that a little in the future.
Also in Lambeth so will have a look into that, though the sheer pain of working with a council run effort will surely negate any cost saving that might arrive.

We have a house project waiting to go through that requires heating, a full rewire and pretty much everything else. As we are starting at zero I'd like to fit something eco so hoped to avoid any reliance on gas, I know the air source heat pump is the most efficient option, but the house is not currently well insulated, I'm unsure of the technology and I heard it is necessary to absolutely max out the radiator sizes which I'm not keen on. Option A) currently is electric combi boiler (green tariff), with the aim of fitting solar panels on the south facing part of the roof in the next couple of years. We will insulate the loft from the outset, and the windows will be replaced at some point short term-ish too.
Anyone have any experience here, or any advice as to what will be the best combo of eco, warmth and cost?
It's a brick built 60s mid terrace btw.

Gearing is 32:16
Front skewer is a Zero Titanium (short-lived UK chi-chi brand)
Top cap is a Niner beer cap oneSeat tube: 18.5" centre to top

I don’t think so, its this one:

But saying that the top tube replacement by BJ seems a bit of a coincidence. I bought frame and forks only.

I just don’t use this, sadly, and I will soon have no room for such superfluous frippery. Early (open end cap) DeKerf Mountain frame with triple butted Kona P2 forks, has a more recent 853 top tube fitted by Bob Jackson where it had a repaint at the time too (@ 10+ years ago!). Highlights include: Pauls brakes; White Industries cranks and hubs; Mavic Ceramic rims; Race Face finishing kit. The frame is obviously built for gears but I only ever ran it SS, spec below, parts marked with an * I fitted from new/NOS and have less than 150 miles on them. 17” frame, details to follow.
Will confirm frame size details and do some better pics if genuine interest, probably best to split but I can’t face that at the minute.

Hit me up with any questions, esteemed member of the forum @Lolo can vouch for this bikes prettiness as he was there when it was being built, 8 years ago 😭

Lovely little Aende frameset with typical enlightening (?) work on the lugs and dropouts etc. it has had some mudguard eyelets fitted at some point (I can’t imagine with the clearance it was ever designed that way/Pongo built anything that took mudguards), likely it was resprayed at the same time. Some scuffs and marks as pictured but pretty good overall and the threads are all good, I also have a new set of white with black outline decal set from H Lloyd I’ll include.
Seat tube = 51 cm c to c; 54.5 cm c to t
Top tube = 54.5 cm c to c
85 mm head tube
For 700c wheels
Allen key brakes
27.0 seat post
British thread BB and headset
126mm spaced rear end
Weighs @ 1750 grams on my crappy luggage scales, can get a more accurate weight if of any interest.£250, located at the end of the Met line, or can post, or can bring it in to London if you want it and commit to buying it with a deposit.
Are there any questions?

1993 Alan Cyclocross frame and fork, includes an Italian threaded Campagnolo (SR?) head set and NOS Campagnolo seat pin bolt, does not include the BB pictured. Takes a 25.0 post - I have a nice USE one available to the buyer if they wish - Italian BB and is Canti brake only. Condition is great, I've been over it very carefully whilst cleaning it up and there are no cracks, dents, bad scratches or signs of un-bonding (is this a word?), there is some sort of mess at the seat clamp gap, but this is not structural, nor is it visible when the seat bolt and a brake hanger are in situ. 100mm front, 130mm rear, I also have a really nice Campagnolo 8 speed/NOS Ritchey Road Logic rim wheelset available, as well as a full set of Campagnolo canti brakes. Top tube: 52cm; Seat tube: 50cm; Head tube: 10cm
Looking for £175 or near offer This is currently located in Hackney Wick, can obviously post at cost too.

I have barely ridden this preferring to ride my old commuters or an MTB at the weekends so I am getting rid to build something else. Bike was bought in November last year, I have probably put 500km on it.
Bumpf from the website and geometry chart
Bike is a 50cm which is the smallest they do, I am 5' 7" and ride a 52cm in Trek/most Specializeds, horizontal TT on this is 53cm.
Build is slightly upgraded from stock (see link above) with the addition of:
Continental Grand Prix 4 Season 28c (£100)
Ritchey Superlogic headset (£100)
Bontrager RL IsoZone bar 40cm (£40)
Fizik bar tape (£15)
Specialized Avatar saddle (£25) (143) - this is brand new as I am keeping the Phenom that I used on there
Shimano Ultegra BB (£20)
Shimano 105 chainset (£90) (170 arms)
I will also fit some shiny new quick releases (your choice of colour!) in place of the generic ones in there now.
No pedals (but can stick something on to get you home obviously)There a few small marks on the fork, and a couple of wee nicks on the frame but fundamentally it is in really great condition, properly cleaned and maintained, wheels spin smoothly and are true, brakes work really well for cable discs, chain does not show any wear (well, clearly less than .5 on a Park tool), tyres still have many more miles in them. The seat post finish is poor and has not held up well to be put up and down (I had to wet and dry a sharp edge of internal frame which sorted it), the stem decals are coming away too, the headset has been stealthed* with a sharpie and needs topping up/cleaning.
The bike takes mudguards, you could get a 30c tyre in there too if you wished, the ride is very forgiving as you would expect from a decent Reynolds steel frame and fork, the isozone bar adds a little more comfort too, it is no lightweight but would make an awesome year round commuter or, gravel bike (yeah yeah).
Clearly I am no 'that lady from the Halifax ads' when it comes to pictures.
Looking for £900 ONO - Bike is in the City currently (Southwark Bridge) but I can get it to home in Streatham Hill if easier
I don't see why not, you would have to pay a fair whack up front for enough technology/insulation to make it happen though, especially while it is in no one's best interest to develop this stuff rapidly/subsidise it.
