Re speciality roastery prices. A quick google of Square Mile, Workshop and Origin brings up very similar prices (bearing in mind Sq M are 350g not 250g). What similar quality companies are charging less? And have someone frequently visit the farms etc.

Yeah what’s happened to that app? I dug it out for the first time in about 5 years, my area now includes every cafe that maybe uses speciality beans and offers avo toast.

My only reservation is getting the burrs damp, seems so wrong. When I clean mine with hot soapy water I leave them out to 100% dry before reassembling.

Got a caper spurge going nuts here. Apparently quite toxic, got a cat and a toddler so would like to get rid. How do I get rid of it? Roots are apparently crazy deep. I’ve never used weed killer but would consider for this.

Nope don’t want to keep anything, it’s mostly bare arid earth anyway. Have been looking at more organic / no-dig ideas so will hopefully avoid weedkiller and just go heavy on manure, membrane and compost.

It’s wet and very compacted. I planted some lavender, rosemary etc in a narrow bed and my wrist still aches from how much of an effort it was.

Just moved into a house with a garden. Bottom half is 6 patches of about 1x2M with random walls, steps through middle etc. It’s all basically empty other than some bushes I’ve cut to stumps. Soil is awful clay topped with rubble and sticks. Loads of bindweed is rearing its head.
I don’t really know anything about gardening – any ideas of how to get started? We’re thinking of just planting a bunch of ornamental stuff near the house, then next winter get it really sorted, do a veg patch up the top etc.
