^^^^Cheers tibbly. both of those sound right up my street.
Fibished the Goldfinch recently. Started so strongly then fell of a cliff about 2/3 of the way though. Huge disappointment.
Currently reading H is for Hawk by helen Macdonald which I'm really enjoying. Darkly twisted and very personal nature memoir. More about grief and obsession than nature really. Dig.
Also dipping in and out of of a bio of Thomas Cromwell and the rather dated Songwriters on Songwriting (a collection of interviews based firmly in the late 80s).

Can anyone advise on the fit of the Gustin slim (or whatever the fit between straight and skinny is called)? The straights I have are nice but definitely on the wide side. I have been told I have "rugby player calves" and my thighs aren't slim either. Tempted to just order a pair anyway but would be bummed if after 12 weeks or whatever I couldn't get them on... Anyone got exact measurements?

Still waiting for the black on black Gustins I ordered back in 2007 (or so it feels like). Think they're due next week. Slightly worried that the none more black (warp and weft) will be overkill.
Not strictly denim but has anyone ordered any jacket soff Gustin? I'm quite liking the waxed cotton trucker...

Sweet.
I've hit a wall HARD this week. Decided to knock up some simple acoustic versions of things to keep the band page ticking over with new content but oh my DAYS have I lost my pizzaz. 27 takes of an acoustic guitar track. A similar number of the vocal. I've thought all of the mojo out of it. Urgh.
On the plus side, I am writing some awesome shiz and am booked into to record in germany on 19th -22nd Sep and lookign at dates at Gold Top and Soup Studios in October.
Oh and found this in my plugins and have been enjoying it on guitars very much:

yum.
All of which is cheerfully distracting me from the painfully obvious fact that I SUCK.

I'm still on the search for the perfect plain tee. Been researching tee shirt shapes and cuts, measuring up old favourites and trying to figure out exactly what it is I like about some and dislike about others. Got so far that I've been genuinely pondering the logistics of setting up a crowd-funded bespoke tee service along the lines of gustin but for specific cuts and sizes as opposed to styles. Short of that, who does light cotton tees with a slightly waisted fit. Not clingy "fitted" but just with a very slight taper.
Awful news. Only met a couple of times but all if this love is justified. Very obviously a wonderful man.
