Did you run the TLR or clincher version? I’m also trying to figure out whether I want the Race or Evo version. Had a set of Masters before which rode great but didn’t last very long at all.

What are my options for a silver stem that will go with a Thomson post (but ideally isn’t £85 for the Thomson X4 -10). Must be 4 bolt. The new silver Zipps look to be a slightly different finish. Maybe a Kalloy uno + acetone?

Nice bike! I reckon this is the best looking Vig.
I recently sold mine (the version before with the external headset cups and “Cinelli” on the downtube) after quite a long time on eBay. It went for about the same price as yours though.

Any experiences of the Decathlon merino boxers? Are the seams compatible with cycling?
Going on a 4 day tour later this month. Actual riding time each day is minimal so was thinking I might get away with some flappy shorts over boxers.

Are Thomson stems known to be particularly weak? Is it an issue with the 2 bolt designs for the road stems?
Though, I do second the Kalloy suggestion.

SP PD-8X dynamo hub. Used but good condition. 15mm thru axle but can be adapted to QR or 12 with the appropriate adaptors from Halo etc. 28 hole. 6 bolt disc. Cheapest I can find is £126 new from Spa Cycles. I’m after £85 posted.
Veloflex Corsa 28mm gumwall clinchers. Minimal dry summer use. £60 posted.
Shimano RT76 6 bolt 180/160mm rotors £40 posted.

Got a Shimano BR-RS785 on my Pinnacle commuter which has sticky pistons, seized and stripped retaining bolt, and is generally corroding.
It’s got the straight rather than banjo fitting hose. Can I use a mtb caliper, such as the M525, instead?

Has anyone got recent experience of shipping a bit from Australia back to the UK? Got a bike I’ve been hoping to repatriate, but some of quotes I’ve been getting have been close to the value of the bike! Also, will I need to pay some kind of VAT on it?

What’s the verdict on these cheap stands on eBay? I’ve previously avoided doing my own wheels work because it’s been cheaper to just take it to the LBS, but now every local shop is fully booked for weeks and have hiked up their workshop prices.

I’ve owned both a R3 and a S3 with this geo and had to run a a similar low stack cover to get a normal position. The pro team bikes from that era all seems to run even more extreme stem/bar combos to get low enough too.
I think the reason is because, although it’s a pro level bike, ultimately Cervelo (any everyone else) need to sell bikes to rich middle aged men, and having pros riding the bikes is just a means to advertise them to the aforementioned middle aged men.
Anyway, apologies for the derail. It’s a great frame and one of the smoothest bikes I’ve ridden even with 23mm tyres. I’d quite like my old R3 back!
