Tape will be black, probably some fizik stuff since that's whats on my other bike. I'm hoping the Michelins will look a bit more brown after some use.
As for the hoods, I got the groupset second hand and it came with red hoods, I thought I could get away without buying new black ones, will reassess after I put the tape on!

Have made a little progress and fitted the parts. Things to go:
-Waiting for Jtek shiftmate
-Fit something more comfortable than a Turbo
-Current wheels are just to keep the bike off the ground-Finalise cockpit setup and do tape

I'm not sure about what to do with the cockpit and ergolever position though. My other bike has SRAM levers and very shallow 3T drops so the bar tops-hoods transition was smooth. The Cinelli 66 bars that came with this frame have an absolutely huge drop and not much of a flat area on the tops.

I've got a mid 90s Guerciotti Columbus SL frame which I've had built up with a mix of old Campag stuff. I've got a 10 speed carbon Centaur groupset for it, which will hopefully make it a bit more practical. Going to run a Jtek shiftmate so I can all my other wheels (Powertap pair and a set of PX carbon wheels)
The decisions to be made are:
Finishing kit - I think it'll look better with silver finishing kit since I don't want to change the silver headset. Main decision is the bars. On my other bike I have compact drops with a flat transition to the hoods, but I don't think that's possible with the Cinelli 66 bars currently on the bike. 26mm silver compact bars seem hard to come by. Options are to stick with the Cinelli 66s, use black bars+silver stem or run a quill adaptor for some 31.6mm bars and another stem.
Cables - I think the bike looked quite good with red cables. I think either red or white would work well?
This is what the previous build looked like

What bars are those?
