I’ve got a ti seatpost which doesn’t have that little flared lip at the bottom to stop it coming all the way out. Has anyone had any success modifying a ti post to make it flared? Or taping something around the bottom to keep it from pulling out?

Got a 2014 S2L with the stock 2 speed rear cogs. Is it possible to replace the 16t with a 17t or 18t?

Some cosmetic marks but all works as it should. The levers are the same shape as the Red 22 group, but with a 10 speed ratchet mechanism. From what I understand, the rest of the parts are also shared with the Red 22 group.

I’ve been struggling to plug a tubeless puncture. The plug (Ryder slug plug kit, a standard bacon strip type tool) seals the hole fine, but over the subsequent days after, the bacon strip starts being pushed out of the tyre under the air pressure of the tyre. Any suggestions?

Do you know what the tyre clearance is like? I’ve also been toying with the idea of getting one too, probably in Saronni red.

My 8050 di2 front mech has developed some issues. When I shift to the little ring, the chain doesn’t fully engage with the teeth of the little ring until I’ve pedalled another 1/2 revolution, and then clunks down onto the chainring. Chain and chainring aren’t worn so I think this must be an adjustment issue? It started happening after I tried to adjust the high limit to get rid of some rubbing in the big ring/small cog combo, but I’ve tried setting all the limits again and it’s still happening.

Also, potentially unrelated, but I noticed that the support bolt had worked loose, though the cage sits parallel to the chainring without it anyway because the mech is on a band-on mount.

How do I calculate the appropriate chain length on a Brompton?

What’s wrong with TPU tubes?

I used a rubber eraser, cut it up into a suitable shape and jammed in in there. I've since sold the bike, but if I remember correctly, I had to tesselate a couple of pieces for it to hold in place and fully fill the hole at the bottom of the lever. It had the added benefit that if I accidentally pulled on the lever, it would spring back into place, unlikely electrical tape which could break or stretch.

How does one achieve the trail running equivalent of turning up to a local club ride in the "I spent 20k at Sigma sports" full MAAP/PNS/Rapha/S-works SL7 look? Asking for a friend...

On a more serious note, I'm doing some slightly longer runs where I need to drink and I want a very minimalist (ie minimally sweaty) pack to hold either squishy bottles or a small bladder, plus a light jacket, a few bars and my keys. Any suggestions?

Coggers is still pretty savage. Would be preferable to riding up surprise view in a group though.

I’m thinking of buying my dad some kind of watch for his 60th next year. Perhaps a birth year vintage watch. In my vague preliminary searches, I was thinking perhaps a Seamaster, since there seem to be a lot of them around. Any suggestions on how to find a good one, and any other watches to consider? Budget up to £1k, ideally less.

I think with a car of a certain age, you can pass the MOT with the engine management light on.

As a counterpoint, with some n=1 anecdotal evidence, I’ve commuted for almost 4 years on Gravelking slicks, regularly riding over glass in the cycle lanes, as well as some longer winter road riding in the countryside and light bridleway riding in the summer. I’ve had 3 punctures. One sealed on its own and I plugged the other two with no issues. Eventually replaced the rear because the tread wore out, but it wasn’t excessively cut up when I removed it.

I’m potentially also after one, if anyone else has one for sale? Not too bothered whether it’s the new OLED one or not.

Why are these so valuable? My parents have a table like this which was left in their house when they bought it about 20 years ago which they still use. I always assumed it was worthless!
