I guess options are:
Let him come back and make good. Not sure he's got the skills to do it right.
Write lawyer-y letter and try to extract refund
Third option that I can't currently think of due to frustration? He won't make it much better than it is. This is almost certainly a case of him trying to make a big job as small as possible and hoping to get lucky with the result / your expectations. One thing is for sure: that's the best he's capable of doing. If he was capable of better, he would have done it already and warned you of the extent of the job before hand.
You might do well by getting another contractor in to look at it and see what he quotes / details to fix it. Then I'd revisit with the first guy and tell him what you've learned. Sometimes second opinions are powerful weapons.
I would definitely not let him perform further work. before you know it you'll have ruined the door trim and baseboards.

Sonos is definitely worth it, but half of the money is put towards convenience, infinite expandability and decent design quality. I would not expect much out of the sound from the single sonos one.
The existence of the Sonos amp/port really seal the deal because then you can combine your peripheral scattered Sonos ones throughout the house with with a more traditional Hi-Fi setup In the main living area.
No other streaming Wi-Fi speaker service has this kind of flexibility in such a neat compact package.
as an example in our new house we have a Sonos amp for each zone of the ceiling speakers and then another Sonos amp connected to the main Hi-Fi setup which can also play for any other source.
It's really hard to get this kind of flexibility from any of the other services.
The only real warnings I would say is that they just simply aren't as loud as you hope and you'll end up wanting another one, and also that once you get four or five of them in the house it can tax the network a little bit.

can lower tier cars park themselves? a friend worked at honda (sadly now redundant) had a top end civic with all the cruise controls and lane assist etc etc. still couldnt parallel or bay park itself. my 2014 bmw can parallel park itself and i know the newest ones can bay park themselves
Honestly if my car could park it's self I'd be annoyed. What a bullshit gimmick.
I'm decidedly anti-tech in my cars. I don't like it. It's never future proof, so it only get more irritating as time goes by.
Occasionally they nail it, and rather than becoming obsolete and irritating, it become retro. That's rare. I'm looking at you "over drive" and "little manual mirror adjusters"

Those are mostly gorgeous, but "call for price" is too expensive. Would like to pick up 4 of them for 5-700.

wired with exactly what's written there. No changes can be made now. I'm going to ignore the surround sound stuff and do that later as stand-alone system for movies in one room only. this isn't a big deal.
Trying to integrate the thermostat, built-in ceiling speakers, and front door in a way that doesn't feel too third-party patch worked. I also really want control over the individual room volumes with my phone.
might just go with the russound sdb-4.1, and a Russound MBX-Pre Media Streamer wired to the four rooms and control it with a tablet/phone. I just wish the SDB room selector could be controlled remotely. Overall volume can be, but the individual room volume can't.

I'm not sure what letter you're going to write.
I would start with a second opinion from a well regarded professional. They may guide you on repairs, cost and course of action with the first fellow.
maybe then you can write a letter.
