The front is a Lezyne which is a few years old. The rear is a Fly 6.

I recommend the fibre flare rear lights. I only bought the Fly 6 because drivers hate cyclists in Aus and I'd had a few close encounters.

I probably have some spare lights if I can find the charger.

Yep I'm in. The routes I have generally been using involve going up Norwich Road off Dereham Road and out towards Taverham. I am New Costessey but we could meet on Dereham Road nearer the city?

Unless someone has a route in mind we can put a 20 mile loop in the Garmin and see what it comes up with? We can view the routes on the map to agree on one before we set off. I have it set to avoid busy roads so we won't be heading straight into oblivion!

Do you both have good lights? I would suggest we need to be lit up like Xmas trees!

I'm quite happy to go out Thursday and Friday with different people!

Anyone keen for an evening this week? At the moment I can do any day except tonight and Wednesday. I'm living off Dereham Road in New Costessey and have been using the round trip function on my Garmin to guide me around in the dark. However, if someone knows a good quiet loop that would be good.

Happy to keep it shorter for the first ride if people just want to get a feel for it. A good light that will last up to a couple of hours (just in case) is a must. I ran out of battery in the dark near Weston Longville over the weekend and definitely don't want to experience that again.

A set of time of around 7:30pm ensures that rush hour traffic is over.

I've identified a couple of things in the garage that are surplus to requirements.

First is a silver clincher Velocity B43 rear wheel with velocity sealed bearing hub. Includes cog, track nuts and lockring. £60.

Second is a Campagnolo high flange track hub laced to an Araya Aero 1 tubular rim with Hoshi bladed spokes. Includes cog and track nuts. £105.

Yeah I went last night on my own, 50% of the time it was peaceful and relaxing the other 50% of the time I was fearing for my life.

I'm planning on riding once or twice a week in the evening. Approx 20 miles / just over an hour.

If anyone is keen let me know. Good lights and high viz is a must, I'm talking country roads here.

Shower at work has been withdrawn from service for a few days. Was going to go for a ride before work tomorrow but its not going to happen. Need to find which box my good lights are in and get night riding!

What does an end of season showcase entail? I may be able to pop in on my way home but would feel a bit of a twat clip clopping around in shoes and lycra. Not the best introduction!

I have a 2011 Kona Jake the Snake and the standard brakes are complete pish (Kore Race). I have changed the pads and that was a marginal improvement.

I'd like to order some new brakes, does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not very familiar with this type of brake so don't want to order something that is incompatible. I have a Chain Reaction voucher so if they have something that would be even better.

For anyone thinking about it. You can get 16 hole Shimano compatible Circus Monkey hubs and Hillbrick Cycles in Australia still has some of the 16 hole Miche track hubs.

I have a set of Wolber rims to Exage hubs with 7 speed cassette. 126mm spacing. Potential single speed wheel set with spacer kit. Some tyres on there but need replacing in the long run. Just need them out of my life/garage. Tenner if anyone is interested.
