@rhb I think perhaps but hotels really refresh you and give you some stress free rest with wifi (had no 3G so was quite an issue for me), power and guaranteed breakfast
-
Cheers everyone!
I must admit I probably should I have brought a bivvy. The wind would just take away my heat meaning I would spend ages trying to find a warm shelter (banks, train statins , 24/7 McDonalds, airports etc). So when I got past Italy I basically hoteled it every night for 20 odd euros which meant 6 hours of sleep every night.

Almost certainly was me, I live in Great Shelford so I'm in Toft quite regularly.
How are you planning to get to the start line? A few friends said that they'd drive me and then go onto spend the weekend in Belgium but the pretty expensive ferries have turned them off. At the moment the easiest option seems Eurostar to Brussels then cycle the remainder.

Pretty good condition, only two small holes which have not compromised the waterproofness. Inside there are some biro marks but given a good scrub I'm sure they'd come out.6) 52cm Vivalo SOLD
Unfortunately this frame was crashed so the forks and headtube aren't perfectly straight. Not visible but when a wheel is in the frame you can notice it. It's still possible to ride no handed so it's not too bad. Perfect for a pub bike or someone with some frame repair expertise.Seat tube: 52cm

I've entered too.
Got a rough idea of what training I'd like to do - starting with 160km a week as of January and am going to increase it by roughly 10% each week. Hoping to do LEJOG around 6 weeks before as a test run and then decrease my distances. Anyone have any tips on 'smarter' training?
I'm not sure what to do in regards to sleeping.. Should I bother with a tent or just go for a sleeping bag and try and find a bus station or something?
