I bought some Sportful Fiandre gloves. Tested them by filling them with water and indeed they seemed waterproof. It was absolutely torrential rain the next day so I decided to go out as I have some other bits and bobs I wanted to test.
The water was hitting my jacket (shiny waterproof type) and pouring down the arms then onto my gloves. In theory that should have been fine, but between the glove itself and the cuff part (both of which are waterproof) there is a join which isn't. As a result the gloves kept filling with water. At one point I had to stop to invert the gloves and tip the water out! In anything other than torrential, I usually wear a softshell type jacket that the water doesn't cascade down my arms as much and in those conditions the gloves are fine. They're warmer than I thought they'd be when I saw them in the shop. At first the fit felt a bit tight on one of my fingers, but after wearing them in a bit they now fit 'like a glove'.Shame they didn't seam seal the joint thought! Might have a look online and see if I can get some silicon seam sealer or something.

It's slightly different to the above picture now. The green stripes were my feeble attempt (using electricians tape) at putting team colours on the bike - it was the closest I could get. They've now been professionally done on the top tube in the right colour (limey yellowy/greeny colour) and the seat tube/bars are plain black. I had a crack at the hour record and one thing I learnt was that the saddle isn't to my tastes so I swapped it for a flatter 'PRO' saddle. Oh and I got rid of a spacer - looks nicer although I'm starting to think it might be slightly too low now. I'm not sure why there are no pedals in this picture :-P

I feel your pain Scilly.Suffolk. I bought a wheel last week and paid £25 for postage. We ship stuff like this all the time at work and for £25 could easily send it next day delivery. It was apparently dispatched on last Saturday. I text/called the person I bought it from only to get no answer then eventually a text saying that it wasn't his phone - it had been borrowed so he could talk to me to make the original sale :-/
It hasn't been too long, but just some more communication would have made the situation a lot better. As time goes on I'm becoming increasingly worried that this wheel will never turn up :( That said I think the seller is a regular poster, so it probably is just a communication problem. -

I have one of these! You can look at it here and stuff although I'm assuming you've already seen what it looks like:
http://www.pedalroom.com/bike/hoy-fiorenzuola-001-20445The bike isn't particularly aerodynamic or anything but it seems pretty sturdy. I'm 80kg and have had no issues, but then you might be a more powerful rider so who knows. I've seen clips of Hoy riding it round (with an IO and Comete fitted!) so it cant be too bad. If you're ever in the North East you're welcome to have a go on it and see what you think. Some of the welds don't look too sharp but so far I've had no problems with it aside from the minor ones caused by having to buy it at Evans.
I'm guessing you'll put your own components on it, some of the stock parts (e.g. rear sprocket) aren't great to be honest.

Hello,
(Foolishly) bought my wife a Fitbit Surge watch for Christmas. She took one look at it and declared that she didn't like it and had no need for a sports watch :-P So Before whacking it on eBay I thought I'd try on here first as you're a sporty bunch! It's black, size small. It's been taken out of the box and tried on and stuff, but we still have all the box and everything as it went straight back in.
Anyway that's about it really. If you have any questions please feel free to ask :-)
I'm after £120.

I use the same size bike for road and track, but definitely prefer narrower bars on the track. I'm using 33cm on the track and can't fault them. It's the kind of thing that people will often ask "isn't it uncomfortable/too twitchy/etc" but when they try it they love it.
38cm would be fine as it's not that different from what you have (less than 10%) but I'd say try narrower!
If you're looking for bars just to try the width then check out Deda. I forget the model name, but the cheapest bars they do go all they way down to 38cm but they measure O2O so it's about 35cm C2C

Wooo! Just realised that I've accidentally accomplished that 'listeners hour' challenge :-D LOL
At Middlesbrough velodrome I was cycling round the outside of the velodrome and did 37km in exactly an hour of riding. It was a fun ride although I discovered, after about 40 minutes or so, that my current saddle is very uncomfortable if you're sat on it for any length of time.

Just though I'd start a thread about the Middlesbrough velodrome now that it's up and running properly.

I saw these today and thought of this thread...
