I still write out daily plans for jobs,, and I still get that feeling of 'this task is almost over' then realise there's a heap load more of the same to do... I briefly worked for a builder who'd take jobs on a couple of months in advance, forget about them then the first thing would be a meeting of 'how the fuck are we going to do this then'

Any as long as you never touch a Philips screw apparently.. honestly I'd say a 10.8v or 12v with the chucks to get in awkward places will do the vast majority of stuff, if you want to do timber framing sure get an impact drive and if you want to get through 4" of concrete get a corded SDS, - if you go that way, go to a decent supplier and be the guy who wants to hold them (if you think it's Mikki mouse walk away).... But .. the "all rounder" is a combi drill and impact drive set at 18v

On the fly and small bits can just be scratched off with the tip of a 18mm snap off blade or similar.. looks like Wilko still do a cheap paint stripper £6.75 500ml which will soften it before scratching off or use one of those toothbrush size wire brushes (I've not found a expensive paint stripper that massively out performs the cheap ones)

Ok, I did a drawing, it's half done and shows nothing of the work involved. green - battening, red - ply, blue - ply / hinge support, black - hinge. pencil - shelves hanging pole... honestly I'd concentrate on the inside stuff first, do it well and make it work for you (shelves maybe 22x22 batten covered top and bottom in 5.5mm ply so floating, any position length and size) hanging pole one or two etc.. Then consider the covering, ceiling battens would be best hitting joists, easy if you can see /access them from above [I'm imagining lathe and plaster ceiling]. ... so I mentioned curtain as it's the least destructive (can go round corners) and avoids most cutting also can be easily changed.. .
Oh and my shitty picture

I guess it's absolute basic would be a hanging pole and various shelves n hooks etc hidden by a curtain ceiling to floor.. so could the (I'm assuming not yours) ever so slightly over engineered frame be replaced with a whole two part hinged door / in a if opened all is revealed way or a more simple yet poncy design.. if not fisher hammerfix are great to secure battening
