Rode the new(ish?) Trails at Mountain View bike park on Caerphilly Mountain this morning. Have just built up a fairly rough and ready rigid 29er from parts and that was fine for the couple of blues and the green.
Mix of standard Caerphilly Mtn forestry trails and some more built rollers and berms which mixed it up a bit. Would recommend for relative newbies like myself.

Designed to convert singlespeed bike with horizontal dropouts to take rear mech & gears. Includes Surly Tuggnut adapter that makes it QR compatible. Pretty much as new tried fitting but it didn't fit my Genesis Longtitude's dropouts.
Now Sold.

Any experience of the Tern Cargo Node anyone? Not that exciting, but looks like it could be a good option?
Essentially a folding tern bike with an xtracyle attached.

Yeah that's all fair.
One of the main appeals is the 'low maintenance' and durability it claims. I might just be a sucker I guess...but placed the order.
Probably already too late to lay it based on the weather but keen for something for the summer and trying not to delay it anymore!
Will hopefully be planting more of the rest of the garden up too.

Moved some gravel and patio yesterday. This morning I feel like I rode the trail centre on a rigid single speed. Ugh.
In other news is this the place to ask about lawns? I'm looking at getting 'species rich' turf to lay in our garden to be played on by kids but also to cater to bees etc better than our gravel pit currently does. Anyone got any experience with it?

I'm running a 32:18. Tbh I've never really ridden it 'distance'. It's switched between SSMTB and dad bike and that gearing seems to work well.
I'm in Cardiff so have quite a few local trails relatively easy to access with some shorter climbs that are manageable on the gear and stuck a carbon fork on before to shed some weight which helped.

Ask Ira Ryan. Admittedly this probably belongs in the gravel thread. But this is pretty much the bike got me into drops and discs.

Yeah, you're welcome to have a look. I could probably write a fairly detailed review after a month or so of owning it. In summary, nice idea, not executed that well in some ways because it's still ultimately a tern bike with an xtracyle tagged on as opposed to either of them having been designed to work well together.
