nice-looking 931 steel rikulau frame with S&S couplers - a bit dear at ยฃ900 BIN probably, maybe but cheaper than getting the couplers put in yourself if it is your size.

I never post on here since I am rarely central / sarf enough to be spotted, but had 3 Fly-bys of potential forumengers within about 10 min from 6:25 this evening. First brown wooly cycling cap in messenger mode gave me a little chapeau as he passed while I struggled to lug a cast iron sewer cover in one hand while cycling. Second a possible forumenger in commuter mode in full Systeme U / super U kit (I have the cap and have been looking for the Jersey!). thirdly a passing dude in flattop mode casually coasting on a Dolan - pre cursa or track champ (like mine), I couldn't tell.
Apologies to all for the crime against humanity that is my front red tyre! ๐ -

Sorry to disappoint on my promise to update over the weekend - still waiting on shipment of a few toxic chemicals (nitromors, etc) that will facilitate my mad scientist fantasy of reviving this bike. I won't leave my faithful, and expectant readers (#teamjdmitch where are you now?) completely empty-handed, however! Here are a few photos of parts I have accumulated to build the frame up "properly" (!?) once I have stripped the paint, and fortified the questionable "rear end" (which may or may not be ride-able, but has definitely been ridden!). I know some of these are not in the best of shape, but hopefully between your anecdotes of past mistakes and my stubbornness, we can figure out how to restore them to their potential glory:
LOOK! - it's an ergostem (eat your heart out @skrtluv - you can micro-adjust your bars for every day of the week/weather condition)

I am sure there has to be some reason why someone said I would never be trusted with one of these ;)

... so maybe a cinelli grammo titanium stem would suit me better (mmm, remember those kinesis forks...):

ergopower drops!?! wait a second, get that shit out of here...
for a bike with this kind of identity crisis, the bars should be from Moscow... err Italy:

ok, they're a bit scratched, but uncut 3ttt Moscow bars were made for a
time-trial...track...bike... chunk of metal like this.you can start circling now, ye vultures of rare bike parts, because whatever doesn't go on the final build will have to be sold to pay for the rest of it! So if schadenfreude and hate-following weren't incentive enough to read before, the flurry for my ill-gotten parts could descend into a @tynan thread in the style of:
I am having @jdmitch's stem tonight:
stembetter to have this piece of
artwork cannibalised than resort to selling power crystals ;) -

I have a 26er rock lobster (reynolds 853) with suspension forks - I am planning to put rigid forks on it, and I also feel like it could do with a bit more aggressive geo. is it a thing to put rigid forks that are not suspension corrected, or does that mess with the handling too much (given I haven't got massive rake on the 26er rigid forks I found from an old ridgeback).
if I should just go for 29er forks, I have two options, one would be carbon and the other steel (525) ... I am thinking of going with the carbon to keep it light, but perhaps the steel is a better match? any tips on switching to rigid with forks that were not specifically designed for suspension correction? -

is that "GT Edge Aero remix" I hear coming?
edit: if you are selling, I would be interested, just to be able to compare with the monstrosity I have tried to create (don't worry... it's still coming!)

If not, is it possible to modify them?
