Thinking of upgrading from my 6600 groupset to 6800. Currently running on a BB30 frame. I have the adaptors (using FSA EE085), but I think the 6800 crank doesn't look the best. Is there an alternative crank that matches well with 6800 shifting? Or should I just HTFU and live with the famed Shimano shifting that SiSL/Rotor/Praxis can't match?
(also might test Force out too, which will be pretty tasteful on a Cannondale frame...)

Bit of a brief update:
My fort and myself have recently moved back to Perth in Australia, and has seen a few bits and bobs thrown at it and taken off. Back with the black stem, black bars and inline post. Unfortunately the gold wheels remain, they're kinda growing on me but I might relace to some black or silver shallower rims...not sure!
Pics!

@TTM @M_V Cheers guys, slowly getting back into it, did a few km's to see if the deep scrape can hold up to repetitive motion. Took it real slow and got used to the motion of skids and slowing. I'll have to figure out a quieter commute as some of the roads I use here in Perth are pretty tight and don't leave much room for error - comfortable enough on a roadie but not on a track bike.
Healing up fast, and at least rock climbing isn't too affected by the scrapes. Bike seems ok, although got a clicking from my (Phil!) hubs...looks like one of the bearings has been knocked slightly and the inside sleeve is a bit loose. Still works though, and no frame cracks!
Now to spend my healing time procrastinating on the "stylish cycling kit" thread for replacement kit.

Stopped riding fixed for three months while I waited for my fort to arrive from London to Perth. Was racing around on a roadie for two of those months. Fort arrives, such excite etc.
Bomb it down the work commute route, 38.9kph/24mph/122rpm (according to GPS) after a sloping hill and I stop my legs to "freewheel" through an intersection...forgot I was riding fixed. All the drivers around me must have been trying to figure out how I managed to front flip while the bike was in motion. Elbow, knee, upper back and thigh scraped up, lycra, helmet and handlebar tape a write off.
Good thing the 4WD hung back a bit behind me otherwise I would've been flattened. Can't say I have the best confidence on fixed anymore, just a tad shaken after that.

Enjoying my time on my SuperSix when I noticed some noise...mainly a click, random, and when they do happen the sounds are spaced apart by a about half a second to a second. I know that sounds travel through frames like crazy, but would would be the best place to look? They only started after I installed aerobars, a new cassette and chain, and a garmin mount.
Sound seems to be coming from the fork/stem area. It's a different click to when I had to adjust the preload on my ksyriums, this sound is lighter as if something is half cracked or something.
Thoughts?
Edit: can make the noise happen by leaning on both sides of the handlebar, and moving my weight from side to side. Clicking seems to be coming from bottom headset bearing. Time to pull the fork and see what's happening and reinstall.
Edit 2: Pulled entire fork, greased all metal to metal contact patches...i.e. just the lower bearing to crown and put it all back together and retorqued. Clicking gone! Now onto the next sounds.

After riding fixed 165 I switched my road cranks from 175 to 170mm. I found with the 175s I was locking out my knees on occasion and finding I was a bit cramped at the top of my stroke. My spinning didn't feel as fluid.
Still evaluating 170's, I'll need to tweak the seat and bar position, but it feels much more comfortable spinning on the roadie now.

Yeah, I might move the high limit screw a bit closer to the chain. Unfortunately this Cannondale frame is from 2012, so it came with 6700 generation or later - the cable stops aren't tapped to have inline adjusters. Inline adjusters were amazing on my last frame! Will have to take it for a spin and do some aggressive shifting/cross chaining to see if it jumps off again.
-
Quick evening shot of new build-up. Currently 6600 with 170mm 6600SL cranks, ksyrium elites and contis. I find that every now and then when shifting from the small up to the big chainring the chain overshifts and drops. Could it be my derailleur toe in/out, chain too short or the fact I'm using a DA 7901 chain (uni directional?)

-
So I just acquired this, my size (54). Currently transferred my old 6600 groupset onto it with ksyriums while I think about groupset and wheels to put onto it. Any ideas? Not sure I'm entirely convinced by SRAM, but it is a cannondale after all...on the shortlist as well are 6800, 9000, and Chorus. Wheels will likely be handbuilt soul kozak/sl23 climbing flavor.

I've just returned yesterday and I thought I might update on how it all went:
It took me a lazy half day to get to Bruges on Tuesday. The whole aim for me was to relax, as I'm in between jobs/countries at the moment, so it seemed like a fitting place to do it. Hotel was 4 star, and I got a rather cheap deal because it was last minute and a single room (I'd normally go 3 star prices or whatevers cheapest on booking.com). They provided me with a "Discover Bruges" discount card which actually gave some decent discounts at places.
The tower climb is obviously a must (even according to the movie IIRC). The canal restaurants are horrendously expensive, but the hotel staff provided some good recommendations on restaurants. My favourite and one I highly recommend, De Vlaamsche Pot, had the most amazing Flemish Beef Stew ever, and I got 75cl of Tripel Karmeliet ( @maryann it was amazing - definitely my favourite). Also the Bagelsalon did amazing Bagels for lunch.
I spent 2.5 days in Bruges, for a whole day I hired a bike, and I found it was much better in terms of mobility and sightseeing, especially riding the excellent ring cycle path around the city border.
I took a day trip to Oostende, very much a local tourist spot, instead of an international one. Beautiful beach, although a bit empty as it was a weekday.
Brussels I got lucky, as it was the annual "car-free Sunday" where they block off the entire city to ride around/play in the streets with no traffic. Loads of bike events, including the Eddy Merckx World Shortest Time Trial 222m. My friend and I hired some Villo! bikes to ride around the city, unlike the Boris bikes they do not need to be docked every half an hour and are cheaper for a day (EUR1.60). Ended up dancing the night away in a random Tango Club. A thing to note is that they free pour spirits in Belgium, so a double vodka is actually 3/4 of a glass, for about 15EUR in a Grand Plaza bar. 15EUR seems like much but they actually gave you a quarter of a bottle in a glass haha.
Did a day trip to Liege, nice if you have the time but not overtly necessary.
I'll see if I can get some photos up from the time trial event.

So I'm going to Belgium on Tuesday for 6 days, as I haven't visited the land of beers yet.
Any suggestions on what to see and do?
My current plans look a little like this:
- Train to Bruges, spend 2 days in Bruges. Tour of Flanders fields, castles, beers etc.
- Keep the hotel/hostel in Bruges as a "base", and take a day trip to Ghent(?)
- Day trip to Oostende
- On Friday take the train to Brussels to meet a friend for the weekend
- Back in London Monday morning
Any thoughts on doing the Ghent/Oostende day trips, or other cities I should consider instead of those? I'm even thinking of expanding out to the edge of France/Germany if I can get the right train connections.
Cheers!

That looks strangely amazing. Only 730.2g!
Maybe an SI or SiSL on ebay would be the way to go. Now for the other question: spider-ring or 130bcd spider to Praxis? I'm under the impression that Praxis manufacture the spider-ring anyway? (Although they seem to be tight lipped on the topic...)
