I tested positive for covid on Monday, been in bed since. At least the cough is going away but not sure how strong I'll be by Saturday. There looks to be plenty bail points to cut the ride short, so best case scenario I'll be trying at least some of it. Or I might even just enjoy your coffee start and beer end company only, and happily pootle round the sites of Sheffield (have already scoped out the many places of interest). Double vaxxed and boosted, wasn't expecting to feel this rough for this long.

Sheesh, bike booking system. How come it takes 20min to book a spot and generate a ref no??
@jaeyukdapbap Nuts isn't it. Maybe you can get a lift with TTM from London if he ends up driving? -

Super day out, so nice to have a proper forum ride. Thank you so much @youramericanlover for sorting.
I bonked badly on way home at Camberwell, luckily right next to a noodle buffet. Excellent way to end a HDIJ. -

Not sure, but reminded of another of these tile exploring things you might have seen, ever smaller spaces:

Still, it's worth it. An opportunity to enjoy a finely curated fixie ride round some of country's finest, where else can your money buy that!
I enquired about a bike space but they allegedly only allow bookings sometime mid Feb (I have however gone for the 6am, hoping for some pre ride riding round Sheffield maybe). Can't someone invent a convenient bike booking system?

I've found loads of great off road within London, like in the west along the River Crane which connects a series of open spaces. Hounslow Heath another excellent space, or further up in Hillingdon along Yeading Brook, another series of parks and open spaces.
Just had a look at my map now comparing Jonathan O'Keefe's multi mapper map which loads every single ride's track regardless of what it's on, and looks like you have inadvertently highlighted an issue in Wandrer's maps which don't show all paths/carparks/private, those that are not "roads". So my map is actually a lot denser than it looks in my previous post which is from Wandrer. And it's likely that Jonathan has probably ridden a whole lot more too!

Realised that Jonathan France who does tiling mostly (35440 tiles, max square: 101x101, Max Cluster: 14617) also has an absolutely ginormous London heatmap. His is especially large south of the river, whereas my map is very dense, and includes much that probably doesn't come up as roads like all the little paths within estates etc.
Not sure if this car is expensive, but that's unexpected
