I would recommend Memento Mori as well, particularly Paul Clave (King of Bones) who has done a piece for me, which is full of lines and I think pretty well done.

Juin tech R1 are .... ok not good but not bad, Shimano Hydro are significantly better.

I have two bikes presently one with Juin tech and one with Ultegra Hydro, the Ultegra brakes harder, more consistently and after 3 years has required zero maintenance beyond cleaning.

Juin tech has also just released a new model GT1 (?) which apparently is better.

I would imagine it doesn't ride as well as it looks given its age but hanging bikes on the wall seems like a waste to me.

Seems fair it is way prettier than the FACTOR.

I like most of it but the Shifter , RD and handlebars are not great.

They have a wedge system which isn't great in my opinion, however once its set up with the matching seatpost its makes a really light combo.

As far as I know the adaptor works with any mono link saddle.

He has all the ink ready when I arrived.

Certainly the red is taking longer to heal than the outline , its the first time I've had a handpoke tattoo so i wondered if it was down to that, but it seems more likely the ink he uses as you say.

Got this Tebori Daruma from Horihiro Mitomo in Tokyo a week and a half ago.

Almost healed.

It is his bike , its the bottles and saddle that kill it for me.

Also having just checked his insta he has wrapped the handlebars in garden twine and added leather bottle cages to complete the look.

Its not ideal for sure and any decent terrain is 50-60km away but at least that means I get some decently long rides in :) I presume you dont live in Tokyo anymore based on "when living in tokyo "

Fair , i was just looking to differentiate between the 800-1000 m peaks near Tokyo and the 2500m big boys in Nagano and Hokkaido :)

Currently I tend towards daily periodization - rest - hard - easy - hard - rest - long and steady - easy. The hard sessions are normally early morning 80-100km hill smash ups with the road club and the long and steady is typically 2-300 km on the weekend.

Im thinking about a power meter but theres a strong chance my fiance will notice and murder me.

bike maintenance skills are reasonable bar a couple of things that I need to learn like hydraulics and re building wheels , im fairly mechanically minded so I hope this wont be too much of an issue.
