Just checking in to say that I really don’t get the trek-Lidl kit upset. It looks great! Compared to, say, intermarche or quickstep it seems like a really smart kit. Can’t help but feel it’s discount brand bias amongst English speaking fans…?

I have this one sitting on the shelf. Silver, but not the polished version. 1 1/8.

It’s been unused for about two years so I’d just be happy to see it go to a good home tbh.

I really enjoyed putting together my specialized rockhopper (early 90s). 7 speed bits were super cheap which meant I could throw some money at Freshtripe for some fancy bits and it still wasn’t very expensive. Probably the best value bike I’ve ever built.

It complements a road bike very well, but I’m not sure I could live with it as an only bike (I’d miss the speed!).

What about a mid 90s 700c-but-larger-tire hybrid type thing? Rim brakes and steel but a bit speedier on the road?

So good. New wheels have transformed this.

I have these that replaced the standard s bar. They are dreamy, bit wider, great sweep, but still don’t make it a larger package once folded.

I had it recabled when they were replaced, but I imagine you’d need to otherwise it’ll all get a bit tight for the fold.

Can’t comment on the drilling, but on my packrat I opted for some of these for the run along the top tube (nds obviously) and it worked ok. https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/ultegra-r8050-di2/SM-EWC2.html

My brain then got the better of me and I decided to run it along the exposed brake cable along the top of the top tube, inside some heat shrink tube. This worked better, but was a faff and only open to you if you have an exposed cable to play with (rim or disc lht?).

Worn twice. I love the design, it’s just too big for me. Perfect for a jersey pocket or throwing in the top of a bag for when things turn cool.

Would happily swap for an XL if anyone wants to go the other way. Or £100 posted.
