Yeah, visit Golden Saddle Cyclery and just hang out in Silver Lake - it's lovely!
If you can get out that far, go to https://www.topangacreekoutpost.com/, rent a mtb and go on one of their loops in topanga creek. Some excellent mountain biking with views across the city. The shop is great; they seem to have banana bread and coffee on tap. They even wrote us a thank you card for hiring their bikes that we received when we got home. Highly recommended.

Stooge is a bit more upright which is no problem unless you really want to do serious miles fast in which case the swift does have the edge. If you can live with that limitation then they are a more capable bike than the swift imo.
If you do get a stooge try the moto bars - so good!
Doesn't really seem a downside to going the second hand route as long as the components are what you want.

I had a Mk2 Stooge. Really rated it. Had two wheelsets - one light 29er with xc tyres and one 650b with 3" tyres for silly stuff.
It is a fantastically capable rigid (or bouncy with the newer versions) bike. Sold mine as it was way overkill for the riding I do.
Dont rule out a singular swift for something more xc style though. Still a great bike.

Please can someone buy my 2018 Pinnacle Arkose 4 (Large) so that I can put the money towards a fancy road bike?
£600
A year old. All stock except for Fabric Scoop Shallow saddle and Kalloy Uno 120mm stem (will include original 90mm stem too). Set up tubeless.
Spec here: https://www.evanscycles.com/pinnacle-arkose-4-2018-adventure-road-bike-EV306247
Bike has done around 2000miles but most of the time on a set of 650b wheels. As a result, these wheels have only done a few hundred miles.
Not included in sale are pedals, cages, bell and saddlebag!
I am in Kent but can get it into London easily. Would rather not post.
PS the bike is great, I just don't do enough gravgrav to justify keeping it.

So, might be time to swap the arkose to something more road orientated. It will be my only bike so must be disc and have mudguard mounts. More tyre clearance the better really within constraints of road geo. Currently thinking:
- Cannondale synapse (or synapse SE)
- Ribble Endurance SL
- Giant defy advanced (1 or 2)
Any others I should be considering? Budget probs around 2k and leaning towards endurance type geo (it will not be raced). Tempted by carbon but could be persuaded otherwise...

Cheers, it's one of these: https://www.outershelladventure.com/shop/handlebar-bag
Not at all cheap but brilliant.

Selling my 650b disc wheelset. Hope Pro 4 (purple) laced to WTB i23s with DT Swiss spokes (32 front and rear). WTB Horizon tyres set up tubeless.
Currently set up as QR rear and 12mm thru axle front. Comes with adapters to turn front back to QR if required as well as a Purple Hope QR for the rear. Hope sell adapters to convert front and rear to most axle standards. Freehub is 11 speed Shimano/Sram pattern.
They have probably done about 800miles since being built and have been great. Selling as, if I'm honest, they are a little overkill for the riding I do. They were stored in our shed over winter and have some mould spots where the bead meets the rim.
I am in Kent. Can post or meet at London Bridge.

It appears that I have built a bike that I have no need for. Would anyone like to buy it?
Frame - Surly Steamroller 56cm Lilac
Wheels - H Plus Son Archetypes to Goldtec (built by Hubjub), Panaracer Gravel King SK tyres (32mm)
Headset - Cane Creek Forty
Stem - Ritchey Classic 100mm (avec trendy 'No Garmin No Rules' sticker)
Bars - Easton EC 70 Wide Flat bar (720mm wide)
BB - Sugino 75
Cranks - Sugino 75
46x18 with surly sprocket and lockring
Brake and lever are basic shimano. Have a rear and extra lever if you want it too.Frame and wheels have done about 100 miles from new.
The cranks are fairly aged and have been on a number of different bikes. On the drive side crank the extractor threads are stripped meaning the crank cannot be removed from the BB spindle. You can still get them on and off the frame, you just effectively have a two piece rather that three piece set of cranks. Once installed, they work perfectly!
Comes without saddle or seat post or pedals.
I am in Kent and can post but bringing into London would seem easier. London Bridge is best and I can be there most weekday evenings and weekends. Hoping to sell as is but will consider splitting if people are interested.

No wizardry. Just new! The front is already starting to wear a bit (50 miles in). As @Heldring says, carbon rims are pretty much your only option to avoid it.
Bit of wabisabi is fine with me though.

I assume because wheel and groupset weights don't account for the discs themselves? Them shits are heavy.
FWIW I have a disc Road bike as my only bike. It's great and does absolutely everything I need perfectly. That said, if I were to do it all over again I am not convinced I would go discs. There will be some mad rim brake bargains over the next few years as everyone sells up and goes disc too... #savetherimbrake etc
