If you can get a lift up to Derry Lodge (or cycle), you could get into the Lairig Ghru, nip into the corrour bothy for a tea, up the devils point and even return via glen dee if you fancied a longer day.
You could also head up glen derry towards the lairig an Laoigh/hutchinson hut and bag a peak(s) on the way/way back.

Struggling to find an all silver equivalent to Kinlin XR31... in rim brake.
Borg 22 and Pacenti Forza classico are shallower options and would probably be fine. Really, I want something like DCR Flirt in 30mm but can't see these available outside full wheel builds. Any alternatives in that depth?
Edit: After a bit more looking, HPS Archetype is 25mm, Halo Devaura is 31mm and Hunt Sprint Aero are 31mm (though it feels little wrong building up some Hunt rims). Just in case anyone else is looking.

Serious kudos to anyone getting the full 500 done this year. Some of the days have been grim. I managed just over 100km.
Pas Normal have a 1250km in January challenge, might jump on that for a bit of new year motivation. You can win a £1000 voucher for their stuff, which at their prices might get you some bibs and socks lol

Woah, this is superb! Love it all, including the Carradice (?) and the RSF sticker on the downtube. Can attest that rapid rise with friction is the bees knees; one of those things that doesn't seem worth the change and then you do it and everything else (friction wise, at least) feels inferior.
Did The Woods tempt you with tubeless or are you tubed as Grant intended?
Edit: Also, is that a glow-in-the-dark Nalgene? One of my best ever purchases for camping as you can always find your bottle in a dark tent without resorting to head torch!

Couple of alloy bars. Both fitted and lightly used (the Specialized for a few months, the FSAs for about a month):
FSA Omega 42cm: measured at the drops, closer to 40cm at the hoods. Nice shallow drop with a longer drop section. Super comfortable.
Specialized Shallow drop 42cm: Came stock on an aethos. Changed largely due to going narrower.
£20 each posted?

Such a great bike, and well photographed too.
My wife has these on her cross check and loves them. I have the studded ones (ordered from blue lug I think). The studs are good, if a tad too aggressive for my purposes. Overall, I just really like the length of these pedals for this sort of bike. Pretty sure I read about someone adding studs to these with a drill and tap but can’t remember where.

Popped back to Norfolk this weekend with a vague plan to put some slimmer tires and clippy pedals on the Homer and see how it felt. It remains a touring bike, but did feel a little nippier. I think getting the position a little closer to my road bike might help. Basically I want something for long slow road rides.
38mm tires are still massive (big gravel has addled my brain, should have gone for 32s!). Ultimately, I questioned the wisdom of turning this into more of a road bike. Lots of things whirring round my brain. Including thoughts of a crust malocchio (le sigh).
One thing I must admit, though, is that now I’m a little fitter, I did find the downtube shifters somewhat limiting. One thing that I think will happen is a shimergo brifter setup.

I’ve not met him on a club ride yet (I’ve not been a member long though), but pretty sure I spotted him on the Hell of the Ashdown this year. I am indeed TW based.
A full mudguard installation was kind of what I was hoping for, so looking forward even more now. I need to sort a bike I can ride through winter :)

Long overdue update: I got the urge to do proper road riding again on a fast road bike so bought an aethos at the beginning of the year (I think it arrived on 3rd Jan). It’s been a total blast. Spent the last three days going Home-Newhaven-Dieppe-Calais-Dover-Home to escape the bank holiday and reset my brain before term starts again. The bike did well, though turbo cottons are not a (light) touring tire.
Due to space limitations the Riv has been relegated to home with my folks in Norfolk. I just haven’t found time to ride it in its current gravel-esque guise. Plans are afoot though for its revival in a more road focussed mode…

My front mudguard mounting bolt has wobbled loose and got lost, anyone know what I need to replace it? I can buy the kit (https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/mudguards/brompton-front-mudguard-stay-titanium-cw-hook-fixings/) but seems slightly excessive for a single bolt!
