No, he pressed it for the warm up, correctly turned it off, then accidently turned it back on for an upshift, throwing all the the brakes to the front wheels. Mad really, but it has got to that point where the cars are so complicated to drive it was a matter of time until something like this happened.
It dawns on him around 3 mins into this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQA3xc9hI6k
On the Bottas stuff - surely this is the ideal time to get rid of him. Russell comes in as defacto number 2, so easy to give team orders when needed. Also, if it's clear that Russell / Hamilton are going to be a serious match for each other, they have plenty of time to try and put in some ground rules to mitigate an early season flair up that you could get if Russel starts at Race 1 next year.

If you have an android phone, the app "Backcountry Navigator" is ace. It uses the OS maps on bing/maps to provide a full zoomable OS layer. It's got endless other features too. Once you've bought the app, for like £8, there is no ongoing subscription.
Bridleway wise - the golden part of the year is over already - nettles/brambles now getting out of hand on even well used paths. I hate nettles!

Yep, my Iberital is terrible for retaining grounds when clean but when I let the insides fill up with old stuff, it's almost zero retention in terms of g in to g out. I tend to run a few beans through before first shot in an effort to ensure as little of the coffee which can actually move is old, and am then happy to avoid regularly cleaning it bar the odd bit of burr cleaning granules.

Update on my Pfizer No. 1 experience - Jabbed Wed morning. Arm was tender from the start, gradually building to painful when moved / laid on by the evening. At the same time I got more tired / spaced out through the day. Slept like a log, but woke up still feeling like a log in the morning and struggled to do anything much through Thursday. Hint of a headache, but mainly lethargy. Started feeling a bit better by the evening, but a long night's sleep and I'm feeling loads better this morning, plus arm is almost pain free. Hopefully that's that.

Just got the pfizer - super smooth at Roehampton Hospital - gentle pedal home across Richmond park made for a fab morning all round. The family are off to the (fully vaccinated) grandparents so I'm also all set to spend the first night away from the three of them in 16 months. Just hope I don't feel crap later!

Yeah, I obviously don't know what went down, but that does sound like an overly negative tactic - Dowsett got in trouble for explaining how they do it and moaning when someone didn't follow the "rules" a few weeks back.
Seems odd that the break got such a big lead considering UAE and ISN should have been interested in the chase. They are both nowhere on GC so with just mountains and TT to come, why didn't they get to work yesterday?

Another shout out for the system here. Given government (and society as whole tbh) track record on mass IT system integration projects, this has been nothing short of a miracle. Almost as amazing as the vaccine development itself. Hopefully some lessons are learnt - I work with IT folks at the DVLA a fair bit and this would blow their minds!

It may be decent value, but I'm still baffled by the shitness of highlights.
Not least because of the effort the people in charge of the TV feed go to get coverage of the whole race. Helicopters (multiple for refuelling I imagine) a plane relaying the feed from altitude, loads of motos - Then ES just decide to stick a hastily chopped summary of the last hour and half into an hour - seems rude to me.
Also, the riders got all that dust in their eyes from those motos and then the pictures are only watched by the few lucky enough to be able to skive work and watch it live (he types on work time at 10am).

Even weirder is that their 5 min highlights on youtube
do summarise the first part of the race. Yesterday's does this in just 1 min, and this alone would have provided a useful intro to the hour long "highlights" of the last 30km.It's not really good enough considering we're paying for this - I take it the GCN stuff is identical?

I'm always pleased to see a new video on this bridge's channel but today's episode is perfection.

I've used these before - they are a vision of single use plastic hell, but must be better than powder.

If it's the same as ours, the pairs are supposed to all play each other - so the same two bowlers bowl 4 overs (2 each) at two batsmen. At the change of innings, those roles should be reversed so the batsmen bowl at the bowlers that bowled at them....there is then a pairs bonus point system based on whether as a pair they beat the other pair.
This does means if you get organised at the start you can get all the names in order and make sure they are spelt right.
post them up - at the moment, us armchair detectives have got one shot of it chained to a fence which could have been taken any time.
Dents can happen in transit, scratches less likely. As others have said, how was the bike insured for shipping?
