And today we play a new game. Its too cold/wet/miserable/dark to go out so the cat will sit 3 inches from the door while its open. Then sing me the song of his people when shut.... little dick. And as he is faster than me will sneak out when I let the dog into the garden for a poop. So now I have to pen the cat in the laundry basket before opening the door or play "come in then you tit" until after midnight. This is on top of my personal favourite - who needs to sleep at 2am when you can jump on his balls from the window? Little spoiler: apparently the answer is both me and the dog.
Cant wait for the summer to release the spawn on the unsuspecting wildlife, and while we are here my cat is defective. Its scared of the dark. The ferocious urban predator that has been terrorizing the local moggies and bullying the dogs is scared of the dark.

Follow the border reiver route it's a doddle. With easy stop offs at Carlisle and Hexham. I think it cost me like 20 quid for trains by basing in Hexham. I saved on the last day as I live near Sunderland and bummed a lift off the brother in law. The route itself is steady with some climbs but nowhere near as many as you will encounter through the lakes. Lots of country pubs for refreshments too.

are you doing the whitehaven to sunderland option? I did that on my plug 2 following the border reivers trail along hadrians wall. fairly easy and straightforward. probably doable in a day if you went full bore endurance. I split it over 3 based in hexham and jumped the train to whitehaven day one, carlisle day 2 and finished from hexham day 3.

Well it took three weeks but I finally got round to using the calculator for gear inches and got the brompton figures for the 6 speed and put my mtb in a corresponding gear. Rode up my shitty steep soul destroying hill. Managed no bother other than wheezing like a kettle, which im sure regular cycling will put paid too. So 6 speed conversion for my commute is a go and I don't have to worry about insanely priced mountain drives. Which is a relief because the guy in london went from 540 quid to fit one up to 570 to ship it to durham.

Found a bloke down south. London area. London recumbent I think. So I'd need to ship my baby down. I'm really not sure. I'm going to use a calculator to work out the gear inches of the lowest a six speed can go and use my hated mtb at that setting to see if the hills are achievable and if so I could just whack a 6 speed conversion on myself.

Hi,
Im running an old mtb as a commuter at the moment and genuinely hate the ride. I hate flat bars so very much. But the bike itself is sound and I can stick a rack on the thing so...
I am wanting to stick drops on it to make it useful so I can manage the bars bit.
However im stuck at the shifters/brakes. Ideally I want to put drop brake/shifter combination units on but have no idea which are compatible or even where to start looking. It currently has sram x-7 trigger style shifters and tektro barke levers. The front derailleur is Sram xgen and the rear is Sram sx5.
Its a 3 x 9 gear setup on a Carrera Kraken. Can anyone tell me what drop bar shifters would be compatible?

I live in the bottom of a valley and have to climb 200-300 ft over about 1/4 mile repeatedly in my proposed commute. My 3 speed simply kills me. If I'm going to work I want to be vaguely fresh on arrival. The mountain drive gets crazy low gearing (I've been told) so I can make the hills. I debated a six speed but don't know how spinny/low that is. My main thinking is if I can make the Brompton viable for less than a new bike I also have the option of when it's miserable out I can take it on the bus.

This is a very lengthy thread so apologies if it's already in here somewhere but what is the best place to store digi photos. Preferably free.
Just lost a load of my sons photos from his iPad when photo stream and the backups went tilt on upgrade. I'm after an online storage solution other than iCloud. I've set a 500gb drive to back up his computer hdd but I want to put his photos offsite and preferably secure.
At this stage I'm open to ideas.

Yeah. Checked all the toggles for backing up before I did it. It's worked before just this time everything's gone. When I started restoring, I signed into my sons cloud account and it gave me the option of restoring from this morning backup. Then bricked a second time and now that backup isn't there anymore. I'm hoping Apple can pull it out the bag tomorrow when I call them.

Pretty much ready to cry.
I backed up my sons iPad this morning, checked that the backup had worked. 1.2gb of cloud storage used. Installed ios9 and it went tilt. Spent all day getting it working and ended up having to do a full reinstall.
Tried to restore from backup... nothing there.
Years of memories, irreplaceable as i have split from his mum, gone.
Destroyed.
Does anyone have any ideas whether they can be retrieved from apple's servers?

Massively hungover today and not at my best reaction wise. Let the dog out to poop and the cat reached escape velocity. To make matters worse there's been fireworks going off and he hasn't returned. I'm getting worried now. He's soooooo grounded when he comes back.
