Rode Benjamin Allen's Spring Tonic on Saturday. Managed to keep my time down to something respectable despite sluggish 42mm gravel tyres and being out of shape by getting towed around by a pair of fit TTers, bouncing the first control and fording 300m of flooded road near the finish in order to miss out on a 6km detour.
My rims are full of water and my shoes smell like a badger has died in them now though.

It’s a 20 minute job to swap rings. You could splice in a short length of chain using quick links for the larger ring but, as others have said, having a second chain makes more sense.
(Sorry, should have been in reply to @h2o )

Mine's 1×10 with 40T ring and 11-36 cassette. It's too high for loaded bikepacking and too low for club runs, but OK for everything else, as long as you can handle the slightly gappy gears. If you're used to riding fixed then you'll probably be just fine, as you're used to being in the wrong gear all the time anyway.

If I remember right the disc mount face is 46 mm from the centreline of the hub, so the chainline works out to be 47-48 mm depending on cog width. Close enough to the middle ring position on a MTB chainset, or you could space it out to approx 53 mm to get to the outer ring. You could move the BB spacers around to tweak chainline too if you've got clearance for the ring.

One of these used with a bit of care: https://www.victorinox.com/uk/en/Products/Swiss-Army-Knives/Accessories/Dual-Knife-Sharpener/p/4.3323 is more than good enough for keeping a SAK sharp. Works a treat on kitchen knives and other blades too.

Got the keys to the new place this afternoon. Had a good look round before it got dark and two things struck me - it looks massive with no furniture in and there's an awful lot that needs doing. There are dozens of light switches - fortunately most of them do something - and lots of pipes - that might not do anything at all. Lots of opportunities for the kids to do themselves some damage like missing railings on the stairs and small changes in level in most of the rooms that'll take a while to get used to. There's also a fair bit of junk that the previous owners have left for us to clear out too. First jobs are to change the locks, give everything a good clean, insulate the attic and paint the boys' bedroom.

My Nexus 5X started bootlooping last week and factory resets wouldn't fix it. The vendor (a reseller on Amazon) wouldn't touch it so got in touch with LG and they're going to see if they will accept it for repair. It's 14 months old so I'm not holding out much hope. Bought an iPhone SE to replace it...

Looks good. I bought a Waltly a couple of years ago through Brant at Pact: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/286731/ Very pleased with it, though it took Brant ages to get round to actually designing the thing. Waltly built and shipped it promptly though delivery took a little longer than expected.
I fitted Strada Bianca on mine initially, but they were almost impossible to fit and slippery in the wet. Soon swapped them for 30mm Panaracer Gravel Kings.

Pretty much exactly what our surveyor said to us. C18th stone terrace with partial flagstone floor laid directly on earth, inadequate underfloor ventilation and high ground levels outside = damp floor (and to a lesser extent, walls). He did say that lifting the flags and lining underneath was an option but would most likely drive the moisture into the walls. His recommendations were to sort the ventilation (currently has vents only at one side of the house), use the wood stove and keep the heating on.

Grrrr. Trying to get everything lined up to exchange on Monday and our solicitor only gave us all the paperwork yesterday. Had a good look through it last night - have spotted at least a dozen things that need clarification, a bunch of typos that need correcting and they've given us someone else's completion statement. The solicitor isn't in the office tomorrow so I've got to go there first thing on Monday to get it straightened out.

What is it you don't like about the Wildcat? I've been very happy with mine.
