My two cycle tour pals have just had children rendering future trips challenging.
Does anyone know any good Balkan Focused cycle tour companies? I would be interested to do an off road type tour through Kosovo / Albania / The Balkans. Interested in covering solid mileage rather than doing 50km a day with retired couples my parents age...

Who has right of way here?
Cycle lane routes directly across a road. Is next to a zebra crossing but not a zebra crossing.
I take this route every day and cars seem to stop for cyclists, but one day I'm sure someone won't.
Seems quite an odd design to me particularly with no signage covering right of way... normally from what i've seen when cycle lane cross roads there is a traffic light managing it. -
My previous rented flat in Peckham has a garden like a forest, the neighbour's was devoid of plants (excl grass). One day I noticed the neighbour's gardener cutting back branches/plants growing from my garden into his which he was throwing back over the fence into my garden. It felt rude so I took everything he was throwing over and threw it back, the owner started shouting at me... Once he had calmed down I offered him the use of my green waste bin to dispose of the cutting and I cut back what was growing over... In the end a discussion would have solved unnessesary agro..

I guess it depends how at risk of flooding it is? I personally wouldn't buy a house actually at risk of flooding as 1) it would be shit if your house flooded and 2) if it does flood, flood risk increases, or insurers get less keen on flood risk after some big losses then potentially the cost goes up or you can't get insurance, which would suck...

Just resanded one room (two to go).
Used an orbital sander as already had one, 24 then 60 then 120 grit. Refinished with Bona primer then two coats of the ‘natural’ one.Floors weren’t too bad before and it wasn’t bad, it took a day. Use a relevant mask and also knee pads!
Before (ignore dog) and after photo.

I had similar thoughts for my new back door and the best price I found for an aluminimum crittal type door in London was £1,200 plus fitting (unclear if there are extra frame/locks costs on top of that as I didn't go any further). As you can't actually see the door that well I am now switching to a glazed wood door, more like this.
Looks like quite a good idea given the cost of extensions etc, presumably modern conservatories could be a bit warmer and maybe have more advanced shading to prevent summer overheating. Potential permitted development if a house?
