Depends what your fishing for at the end of the day but a 9ft 6-8wt should be perfect. Bigger flies and stronger wind = heavier weight line. Travel rods make commuting to fishing spots via bike so much easier, and shakespeare make cheapish travel fly rods, but at the end of the day just use what you've got.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHAKESPEARE-NEW-AGILITY2-EXP-7-PIECE-TRAVEL-FLY-FISHING-ROD-TUBE-/372309393181?var=Trick with any sort of casting is mostly timing, watch your fly line to make sure its properly unfurling behind you. With regards to wading, in the summer, the easiest thing to do is just go in shorts and use a battered pair of trainers. Tide times, time of day and weather have a massive effect, and if by trying to cast five extra metres means it ends in a heap you're not going to catch anything.

Ok so I’m looking to try out some longer cranks, and fancy going from 172.5 to 180mm. The frame I’m thinking on running them on however, has tight crank arm clearance even with 172.5mm 5800 cranks, and had to have the chainstay dimpled to get to fit.
Only sram really do cheaper 180 Mm cranks and ive found the dimensions clearance wise for these, but does anybody know where I can find the dimensions for hollow tech cranks?
Equally if this doesn’t work what would be my options for getting more clearance to the chainstay apart from another “tactical dent”? Can I space out a gxp or hollowtech bb?

Hmm. Ok all that well may be true but would the uci not take into account this variability when they set the limit for that particular specified substance in the first place? Possibly not, and it may need reevaluating. However does anybody actually have a figure on the number of pro peloton athletes who have asthma/use inhalers? I’m likely wrong but I have it in my mind it’s quite high, and given that a lot of these inhaler users will be be in a similar physical state to froome, And between the entire peleton get tested so often wouldnt we see a much much higher false positive rate if the limit was so easily exceeded by physiological and QC variability than the 3 or so in the past 4-5 years?

Yeah, my ds crank wouldn’t clear, but Matt/Caren put a small tactical dent in the chainstay and all’s been fineness since
