The old vredestein fortezza tri comp used to be my favourite.
I haven't tried their direct replacement, the fortezza senso all weather, but i've recently put some of their open tubulars on. They're absolutely excellent, like the old vittoria open corsas, but with grippier rubber. I've been running challenge tyres for the last 4 or 5 years and they tend to be less grippy in wet weather and are absolute pigs to fit. If you want a nice fast 25mm winter tyre maybe open pave?

Random question but do those garments smell worse when they get wet/you sweat? If so could be mildew from slow drying clothes, and found this stuff works wonders https://www.vanish.co.uk/products/laundry-boosters/
Add one scoop to wash and mildew gone.

Just got some of these from mantel, no import charges. Haven’t fitted but first impression carcass is as nice as my current challenge stradas and rubber is as grippy as old vredestein tricomps

Not sure what your point is here, as in the UK the average number of children per woman is <2 and lower than that for Europe as a whole. Increases in population are mainly driven by longer life expectancies and immigration.
Most wealthy countries actually have a fertility issue from an economic perspective, as current birth rates are unsustainable given the likely costs in the future to care for older generations.

I think a large part of the Wye is fishable on the wye angling passport. They should give detailed info on each beat, including what species is likely to be there. Normally very fairly priced and gives you a huge variety of river to suit your fancy/conditions
