If I were to get this stem
http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/STCI1AQRS/cinelli-1a-quill-road-stem
What headset do I need or could I use the same CC S2 headset? -
Thanks - the current CC S2 headset that I have on there will be the same size as the CC 100, just without the logos.
What about Stem suggestions? should I be looking for something with a positive or negative rise? anything similar to the Velo Orange? I quite like this one http://store.velo-orange.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/530x530/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/g/r/grand_cru_quill_stem_17_1.jpg or this one http://store.velo-orange.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/530x530/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/e/n/ene_quill.jpg

Thanks Hugo - so I can find a CK or CC headset no problem... (will the CC 100 for example be slimmer looking?)
Still not sure what stem I should be looking for however, is it a quill stem I keep seeing? All of them are silver - can't seem to find an elegant looking stem, like a Velo Orange stem, in black...!

Either a chris king or a Cane Creek 100 have a classic round profile. Also there's a random sort of off-brand components that use Ritchie or Cane Creek parts I think its called VP and they have a classic round shape.
As for stems, just have a look. If its 1" and you need a 110mm, I have a Kelly TIG'd stem. 26.0mm bars will also keep it classic looking.
Thanks - where can I find a "Kelly TIG'd stem" ?
Which is better, Chris King or Cane Creek in terms of quality? -

Hi all
I've got a Bob Jackson World Tour bike I'm building up. Many of the parts are coming from other bikes so the current cockpit setup is really chunky. (nevermind the spacers as I haven't cut the fork down all the way or the cabling haven't set that up yet as I don't have a front mech/chain installed)
I'm looking for suggestions on what stem/headset combo I should be looking into? Ideally I'd like something slim, timeless, and logo-less.
I looked into getting a Velo Orange stem however, they don't have it in Black colour. Not keen on silver as I want to keep the components all Black to match everything else.
Any suggestions is appreciated!

yes, i'll be using Shimano 105 Triple STI's 5700.
Aren't the BR-R463's more Tiagra grade?

Well I ended up getting these:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/tektro-926al-mini-v-brake/rp-prod34580At least for the time being so I can finish the build... but I'm concerned they're cheapie brakes given the price point.
What's everyone's thoughts? are there any other alternatives other than the CX9's? Those are too expensive

Hm.. i'm now a bit confused about canti brakes (sorry for all the questions, it's my first bike with canti).
Do they get in the way of rack panniers? I intend to use rack panniers for longer trips with a set of Ortielb 40L panniers hanging off the sides.
Secondly, could I setup my STI 105 shifters with v-brakes or is this not possible? Thinking of something like this - (i know not black) http://www.wiggle.com/shimano-lx-t670-v-brakes/
Thanks Sirbikealot, the mini v's are really cheap - I'm wondering if they're almost too cheap - I'm trying to put decent quality components that will last, be light, and look good on this tourer build I'm doing.... any other recommendations?
Thanks!

I've got this Shimano 105 Brake Set if interested?

Thanks guys - trying to keep the cost of the build low, wondering how well these Tektro canti brakes compare?
http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/BCTKCR710/tektro-cr710-low-profile-cantilever-brakesIn terms of Shimano, are they at the 105 level or more Sora? I'm guessing at this price point it wouldn't be Ultegra level!
