I love the idea of an expanding seat-post but they're all 3–5 times what I paid for the frameset itself, so glue is the frontrunner right now.

Oh and just peeking in up there is a Concorde Prelude. It's got a dent in the seat tube so I was going to build it up cheap but I've been told that with the colouring and the race number boss it's a PDM bike. Any chance this thing has some history or am I safe to go wild on it?

I picked up a Vitus 979 for cheap with a cracked seat-post clamp. Does anybody have a recommendation for this better than my LBSs "cut it in half and turn it into a lamp". It's a beautiful lightweight frame and I'd love to have some fun with it, I'm tempted to just glue a seat-post in there and see how it holds.

Picked up a cheap-ish Karakoram and one of the shifters immediately exploded, so I've taken the opportunity to strip it down in preparation for a 1x11 drivetrain.

Luckily the frame is in great condition, the purple haze paintwork just needs a bit of effort to really bring it to life.

Are the skewers 100/130 or 100/135?

It's really cool to see all the tough, rim brake 26" wheels I was missing. I've now got the opposite problem and have to figure out which one to pick.

It's not perfect yet but it's slowly getting there, it's certainly a whole load of fun to ride.

Woops! Similar logo (and fork) so I just assumed that metriod was right and they're Kona ... now I look again it's pretty obvious they're not P2s.

That'd be a Kona P2. Among other configurations they came in 400ac, 45mm rake, triple-butted steel and disk mounts.

They're obviously not exactly light though, I'm waiting on a full-carbon disc fork from Taiwan to replace the P2 I have *.

*I'm probably going to die.

Is the top cap And star nut included with the Dolan headset?

Yeah, mine definitely came with the top cap and I'm pretty sure the star nut as well.
