So the track sprockets and brake will arrive in due course. The only thing i'm short of now is a brake lever. I've thought about getting a Paul e lever in sliver (see picture) as they are nice and discreet albeit s bit pricey but more than willing to listen to alternative suggestions, what do you think?

Anyway what to do about a front brake? I was going yo put a 105 front brake on which (a) I have so no additional expense and (b) would be perfectly functional. However, i have a mate who rides probsbly the only other fixue on the island who goads me with his Campag delta. Yes yes I know it wouldn't stop shit but it looks the nuts. Anyway there us no way I could (a) copy him (b) afford to copy him and i needed a non campag alternative.
As a result the last couple of months i've been keeping my eye out for a reasonably priced front Shimano AX brake. These were Shimano's attempt at aero braking. I love their futuristic styling. Anyway @MissyMoo is having a big clear out and buried within the list was one of these being a NOS AX600... (not this one) -
Update time.
The 28mm Conti's have been swapped for some 23mm GP4000's I hung up a few years back when another bike was decommissioned. Plenty of clearance now wherever the rear wheel sits in the drop outs.
I also turned my attention to the rear sprocket(s) and opted for a couple of these Miche ones that are reasonably priced and sit on carriers so they can be slid off following removal of the locking (I think)... -

Dude even if it was verified as s frame ridden byv the risen Christ it isn't worth 1500 dorrah. In immaculate condition you might persuade someone to part with a few hundred but this is a barn find.
Obviously at some point I expect you to tell us someone has paid the asking price but i won't believe it. -

Update time.
Whilst i was away the wheels I bought from @fixedwheel123 arrived. Unfortunately there was some minor damage in transit and i've got a couple of loose and slightly bent spokes where the axle of one wheel has worked its way into the other wheel. No matter it' s not the end of the world.
The wheels came with wimp conti's which may give a sweet ride...but they are too big for the frame so they'll be swapped. -

Bit of an update:
The campag fork crown race has arrived do it will be time to head off to the LBS to get that set and the campag bb removed and the dura ace one installed.
My quest for wheels is temporarily over. After fruitlessly chasing nice wheels with not a lot of money (God loves a trier) I decided to get a budget pair and save up for some nice ones. To that end I've bought a pair of those Planet X Gipiemme wheels off @fixedwheel123 just to get the bike up and running. Long term i'm going to get a nice pair built up for silly money with Royce or Phil hubs.Of course I don't have the money that's why you'll see i'm starting to flog stuff off in the classifieds so please buy and by so doing do your bit for the Merck Pista restoration fund.
I also had a go at the Profile stem which came with the bike. Maggy was obviously a sweaty bugger judging by the corrosion...

Don't get caught riding brakeless on the road. Fixed gear bikes are very much in the spotlight following the death of that pedestrian a while back when hit by a brakeless bike. I don't want to create a debate on whether it was the fault of the rider or the because the bike was brakeless, suffice to say that you are required by law to run a front brake on a fixed gear bike.
