I built my trusty blue fixie a couple of years ago - I kept it cheap just to commute with and to have something foolproof to throw in the car. I've since become quite attached and have even managed some light touring.
After riding a nicer Road bike for a bit, I came back to it and it felt a bit funny. On further investigation the rear drops are off centre! The paint job, which wasn't the best to start with, really took a beating last winter and there are some early signs of rusting.
The plan is to dismantle, straighten out the frame and get her resprayed. Probably a powder coat. While I'm at it I'll build her some decent wheels and maybe swap out for some compact drops because currently they a bit of a stretch.

My turn!
I've got a pinarello dynalite with a 10 speed centaur groupset. Mid-90's I think. I got a great deal on the frame and forks. It had basically been hung on someone's wall for a decade! Since then it turned into a but of a money pit as I try to do the frame justice but it was totally worth it.

I have to drive a lot with work... Fair amount in London and some long haul accross the country. Driving so much tends to make me very chilled about all the stupid maneuvers - you just get bored of being angry.
It's mostly the same shit driving I see when I'm on my bike but I don't die if it goes wrong. Well, minus the motorway stuff unless I'm really lost.
I've noticed lot of lazy driving more often. Not indicating, even not looking and expecting others to make room.
I second the country Lane 40mph thing. The limit alternates between 50 and 30 near me. Most folk just seem to average it and do a steady 40.

hilly ben needs these pedals for the dunwich dynamo he is planning to ride there and back on a rare 1960s 4 speed bob moncreiff (not sure if its 531) slow roller lo pro with 14" wheels and 180mm crank arms . the pedals are the only thing he allows to be after 1962 as a luxury .
Just wanted to let you know there was a home for them if he decided to pass.
Wouldn't want to deprive him of somewhere to put his feet. Sounds like an interesting bike - best of luck!
