I'm looking to replace the Aluminium forks on my mid-90's pinarello to save my wrists.
Ideally I would like to find a smart carbon fork with 185mm steerer and 40mm rake. Modern steel would be awesome too, since second hand carbon is a bit scary.
I have some amazing Columbus genius forks but the steerer is 5mm too short!

Shimano do new ones! Sprockets have the double and triple variants for £60 odd. http://sprockets.uk.com/shimano-st-a073-sti-triple-7-speed-shifters/ Saves trawling ebay.

An example would be- never indicate left when pulling into the inner lane (from overtaking or middle lanes) on the motorway, as the people in the inner lane should expect you to do so.
I do indicate, because I don't trust anyone else on the road.
Damn right! I've watched too many people nearly take each other out on the motorway doing this - why rely on the guy in the slower lanes paying attention? I'd rather they know I was coming.

I took some steel bars off a bike at the weekend and they were so heavy compared to the alloy bars!
I wouldn't worry about the risk of the bars seizing to the stem - its very unlikely and you do want the bars to move anyways.
