Mmh sorry I'm late on this thread... And I hope you didn't paint it in white. Black is way better ! I've never seen a white darkroom... For the size, only one safelight is enough. The white light switch should be placed high to never hit it by mistake, and the safelight one at normal height.
Is the room completely blind (go inside in a bright day and stay in for 10 min and you will see) ? Do you have a plan ? Did you think about the variations of temperature inside ? They height is allright for an enlarger in a table ? Will you work seated or standing ?
So many questions :) -
At the lab where I used to work, the Fuji scan were always closer from reality than scans with Epson/Imacon/Dslr. It was because of the scan's technology and the very high quality auto mode. But it was of course because of the lab worker who perfectly knew how should be the image in a neutral mode.
But you're not that far with your test, and maybe you shoudn't take it like a "neutral" image and try your own interpretation. Everything in scanning and printing is interpretation though. -

Alexandre #148 speaking about the RR440 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2eaNrolvcQ
He says he was not taking the right road and at night a bosnian told him he shouldn't continue. He stayed at his place (schnapps and generator for electricity, all the clichés we could have on bosnian countryside) and make this video on the morning after 15km on this road. But he seems ok with it :)
