I think most of people use this slammed on a road bike, my spacers are too wide to look nice. Or there are variable spacer size?(not the steerer obviously)

Never rode disc so wouldn't know.

I'm currently running 1x10 setup with shimano xt cranks and its 44t outer ring on my colossi rambler cx mostly for road commute.
The ring is worn now and thinking about replacing them with a narrow wide ring, but a bit hesitate because;

1. Largest for 104 BCD is 38t
   
2. The price for it, I can get a tiagra crank for the same price and run the middle crank. Or buying a front derailleur and use it as double.
   
   

Any thoughts on this would be helpful to help me decide

Anyone have experience with maxxis overdrive in 700c tyres?
Not much choice for largish tyre around here.

Update:
So the mech unlaced the spokes and while I've never seen a twisted spoke it does seem twisted.
It is a bit bent.

No nipple crack though.

So I've changed the spokes and nipples with Richmond double butted. And will see how it goes.
NB: it's pressure relieved now.

Well it's been trued a couple of time now, so I would say it is persistent.

Definitely will consider all the input given so far!

1. Split nipples
   
2. Under/over tensioning
   
3. Twisted spokes caused by No stress relieving
   

Can't see any split nipples from the outside, but will check it too

How was the previous wheelset unlaced? If the spokes were just cut this can stress and mess up the rim.

Is this what you mean by stress relieve?
I don't know if the mechanic done it the first time, but we've trued it a couple time more after that and didn't do anything like that.
Basically only truing and then balancing the tension.

Hmm so there are the possibility of under/over tension? Even if the tension is balanced?
So maybe it is this or wheel built error.

I'm pretty sure there's no abuse (at least no extreme) my previous bike is a stock bianchi pista with pretty much the same riding style :) and the wheels are still true

Spokes and hubs are new, the rims are secondhand but we (me and the mech) can't see any fault.

As the title says, my wheels untrue itself, my lbs checked and balanced the tension last time we trued it.
But it kept going untrue.

It's tiagra 4600 laced to archetype with double butted ACI spokes.
The rims is not bent.

So what seems causing this?

But @miro_o suggestion on using single speed rings should be ok no?

Even ramped rings should be not to bad for SS as long as the tension is right I reckon.

IIRC The m610 is hollow so should be lighter and stiffer.

Why not road cranks?

Shape wise I think tiagra or 105 5600 will look similar (haven't seen a 105 8 speed though edit:just googled it and there are some difference but I think it's they're closest shape to your current shifters.)
New tiagra is also 10 speed now. But maybe if it's also a double that should be no problem.
