Wowee, thats a a 1/3 of a foot, nice work on the waistline Mr dotes.
I was a wobbly 15 1/2 stone at the start of summer '13 and over the last year as I've ramped up my weekly mileage dropped down to 12st 9lbs. I still eat and drink what I used to cos I enjoy good Veggy food and Hop-flavoured drinks but its just burning off now instead of accumulating. I stopped skateboarding at 46 and with both kids grown up and moved out thats when the weight went on.

Thanks all, very kind.
I did a thread here about a year ago resurrecting my rusting heap (and the bike -arf!) http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/231778/

I've only been riding FG for a year, I'm a very late starter. Almost 50 y/o but had the itch to start commuting by cycle (instead of motorcycling) about 3 months now but I can only manage it 2 or 3 times a week due to it totally knackering me out each time! Its ~19.5 miles each way but very flat thankfully until I get back to DirtFud where I have to climb up East Hill at the very end of the ride. Luv riding my bike and getting my health back and weight down. Did a PB today, 1Hr 16min 2 Secs.

Ha! Still unseized! does victory roll
Just gone past 4300 miles now. Weight down to 12St 10lbs, still falling orf me. Started commuting to work in Holborn on it last month which is good for me cos its 40 mile round trip each day from NW Kent, only managing 2 days a week at the moment mainly due to me being a softy wooss-bag.
The 34 year old Weinmann front brakes finally gave up last week, an alarming amount of 'flex' was causing the blocks to clip the tyre under hard braking. Treated Aldous (the bike) to some Tektro long reach jobbies, yummy stopping power finally.

"No Service between 9AM-10.30AM".
Thats the one that really clobbers me, especially on my weekend fun rides up to Lundun and back. I've made up a 44 mile circular route from Dirtfud then crossing the river using the Tunnel service then Up to Isle o' Dawgs on the northside of the Thames then cross back over the river at Greenwich and back to Dirtfud along the Thames path south of ol' man ribber. I've had to re-route up the South side of the Thames a few times on weekend runs then cross at Woolwich via the Tunnel or Ferry.

Your ass must be made of rhino hide. She ain't pretty but one less car :)
My botty is about the same size a Rhino's, so yeah! :-)
Looks functional! Ain't nothing better than a tool that does it's job correctly.
May you have many more miles onboard.'Functional' = Yup's, its set up to be comfortable for me. In addition to my Rhimo sized bum I have a large Ale containment device fitted at the midriff and wrists of a Fly but made of glass. Works for me (a large bodied/short legged/limp wristed 48 yr old Hairy Hippy!).

Well, a few months have passed and 'Aldous' has metamorphosed into a Fixed gear mile-munching-machine! I didn't find the Chop n Flops comfy (mainly due to a lot of extra upper body weight called 'FAT' ! Google it... :-) ), so I bought an adjustable stem and some more regular bars and adjusted and chopped them down until I found my ideal combo. Sorted.
Then at the start of August came an offer of an early Birthday pressie from my long suffering partner, a pair of modern 700C flanged rims and a flip flop hub. Awethumne! Initially fitted an 18T FW and an 18T sprocket but found I was happy riding fixed all the time so over time as my legs got stronger and I got fitter (no really) I dropped a tooth and just ride a 17T fixed all the time now. I've done just over 650 miles on it this summer/autumn.
Not your normal pretty fixie I grant you but its SO comfortable for me and I grin a lot when I'm riding it and love zooming about on it.
This is what it looks like now...those of a nervous disposition might want to look away :-)
Whahey!
Dave.

63 miles on Satdee, me on ol' faithful Aldous + Mate on multigeared device. Not one sighting. These Face Tatt's are coming orf!
