London based craftspeople, where do you get your wood like cherry or other hardwood for little and bigger projects? Would like to go to a bricks and mortar store so I don't have to wait and pay for postage

Yup, want to make something a little nicer and attach to the saya so I don't lose it.

First attempt at make my saya, with a little help from @pryally. Not perfect, managed to crack one of the pieces of wood but still functional. Now thinking about version 2.

I will try to make a knife sheath, just because they look cool :)

That looks good, can't wait to receive it and get working on crafting Saya V1. If all goes well, the tulipwood/cherry wood combo should make for a nice contrast, assuming my skills are up for the challenge.

In terms of what I want to make, little tables, chairs for the kids, then progress maybe depending onto bigger tables and maybe shelves.

OK, I'm going in a different direction here, I'm leaning now to either a caad12 disc or for more versatility a caadx or similar cyclocross bike. The main aesthetic requirement, horizontal toptube.
