In terms of the new paint, I always loved the chromaflair look (love Kleins), but it seems to be everywhere at the moment, so maybe the moment has passed for that. I also always wanted a very stealth bike. I've tried to combine these two things into one, so have asked for the frame to be sprayed in matte black, with the decals and details in gloss black with Didspade Kosmos Supershift Flake. Hopefully, it will come out not too in-your-face but with a bit of something different! I first saw the flake on Kustom Flow's Instagram. I would love him to do the respray, but it just won't work logistically unfortunately.

In 2016, I bought an Argon 18 Gallium Pro frameset for what I think was a bargain at £700 from a guy in Belgium who had raced it for one season. Absolutely fell in love with it, and it fits me like no other bike I own. The only negative is that I didn't really like the paint, but that doesn't matter when you're having fun.
Unfortunately, during lockdown, my partner was riding it on the turbo (laziness on my part to not swap bikes) and somehow there was a chain drop. Whilst she was wearing headphones. She didn't notice for a few rotations and it caused some damage that was assessed and deemed fine to carry on riding. Fast forward to earlier this year, and whilst out on a fast group ride, I had an inexplicable chain drop and it caused some pretty catastrophic damage. I needed a bike and fast, so decided to get into 2022 and bought an aero frameset with disc brakes (Argon 18 Nitrogen). It's fast, and I've set some PBs, but I just don't love it. It's just not as fun to ride.
So, I've decided to get the frameset repaired and fully repainted. Unfortunately, I live outside of the UK and options are very limited in where I can get this done. Initially, I was going to have to mess around with expensive postage to the UK, but I found a local guy who is used by the more 'premium' LBSs and he gave me a quite reasonable quote for repair and respray. I went to look at some of his work, and it looks (to my untrained eye) very good, although not very creative/modern in terms of paint choices.
Starting this thread to make sure I get it built fairly quickly and to get some advice (particularly on the carbon repair/paint side of things).
Happier times:

Matt Stanbury is a character. Graphic designer by trade, cyclist at heart, he has been challenging the Instagram image of a dedicated hobby athlete for quite a while via his profile Glorious, recently renamed rock_n_donuts. His belief that cycling (or any other hobby sport for that matter) should be fun in the first place clearly resonates with his 38K followers. His donut fetish, depicted on a series of jerseys of his own design, has become his tongue-in-cheek trademark in the world of too many calorie obsessives.
Given the fact that a Festka has been Matt’s go to roadbike for a good while, it was only a matter of time until we agreed on a collab. A jersey had been on the cards for a while but when Matt showed interest in getting a gravel bike from us, we suggested to him that he design the scheme for it to be also offered as a limited edition.

Rose CX bike that needs some attention: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265684610315
Looks like it has been dragged repeatedly through barbed wire and never cleaned, but £240 OBO for an Ultegra disc brake beater/commuter seems ok to me.

I will be doing a week in Annecy In July, before a week in Les Contamines Montjoie. Annecy routes advice would be great!
There is a mixed surface ride we plan to do over 2 days with my partner from Contamines to Bourg St Maurice. The area around Beaufort/Hautluce that you appear to have on one of your routes is lovely and quiet, with stunning views and decent (but not mega) climbs. If you go that way, I believe Col Du Joly is fully metalled - there is a restaurant at the top with views of Mont Blanc. There is a climb next to Lac de Roselend which looks fun.

One thing to be aware of is that area is seemingly busy in summer with people walking the Tour du Mont Blanc, so refuges etc are already mostly booked.

Anybody own a Dolan GXA? Seems a similar offering to the Tripster, but slightly cheaper and with nicer paint IMO. Actually available immediately as a frameset. Imagine support is decent from Dolan. This build puts me off a bit! https://www.craftbikes.co.uk/forum/questions-discussions/dolan-gxa-gravel-bike-build-with-shimano-grx-di2

Non-ironic noob question.
Currently running R7000 (50/34, 11/34) on the adventure bike, which is absolutely fine as 75% of riding seems to take place on metalled roads with pretty average climbs. What's the cheapest/easiest way to lower my inches (or however it's referred)? I'm not sure R7000 could handle an 11-36 cassette due to 39T total capacity. Same problem for a 48/31 GRX chainset. I'd rather not change too much, as it's just for a couple of weeks in the Alps where there are some lovely looking gravel roads, but scary gradients. I know my weak legs will be longing for an old MTB triple, especially when loaded up for overnights.
Probably overthinking, but would prefer not to get in the cable car/hike a bike too much, especially as my partner will have a lovely e-mtb and it would just hold her up.

This seems as good a place to ask...
Have two weeks in the Alps coming up and bafflingly booked my flight to Geneva a day before I should have. This means I have around 24 hours free before my partner arrives. I've booked a hotel in Versoix for the night and was considering a very early start to do the 175km round Lac Léman. I read some positive words about the route, but (dated in fairness) street view imagery makes it look like it could be a bit faffy with a decent amount of traffic. Has anybody done the route?
Alternative is a climb into the Jura which will be quieter, but I will have two weeks with no option but to climb, so thinking a flat lake route would make a nice gentle intro.
