More info here.
@dancing james, how long did you get your walking pads to last/how much abuse did they take?
I've had a pair of RT82's for just under 2 years and the rubber has just worn down to the point where the cleats are wearing out. Looking for an effective replacement, hopefully with replaceable walking parts. -

@hippy
You want to look here for doing that. The cyanogenmod wiki is always a good place to find a root method. If you do root it then note that you'll lose some camera functionality as unlocking the bootloader removes the license keys for various proprietary bits of software.
It also tells you the codename for the device, which is what most other forums will refer to, in this case it's z3c. -

Best thing to do is to take your usage (kWh is best, £ is possible) and current tariff details and plug it into here. They'll tell you the best they can find (and they have a huge range), as well as emailing if something better comes along in future. They occasionally have specially brokered deals which are excellent (I have a 1y fix with British Gas for an annual cost significantly below the best of the rest). And it's free.

Use a bench vise to hold the cup and a pair of Allen keys to get some torque on the insert? The usual suggestions RE penetrative oils etc will help.
Alternatively, find a new insert! -

Second vote for the SQR. Makes it really easy to move the bag between bikes too.
