Strange - mine has been rock solid. It's not on a glass backed phone, it's on a plastic case, but it has been solid (despite the case being curved, as I said). Glad you've got it sorted now though!

VHB = very high bond. It's the stuff Quad Lock put on their universal adapters. I have it on the back of my Moto X (slightly curved) and it hasn't budged at all, despite the curvature.
I'd just stick to the glass on the phone - a protector isn't going to help if it comes off your bike at speed! The heat shouldn't be an issue, and certainly the glass protector is going to be the same temp as the glass itself.

Meaning a pair of connectors joined at the hip? Not that I've found, but it's easy enough to heatshrink a pair together. They feel more solid than the a crimp as its soldered straight into a cup. Feels very positive!

If you plan the route using RideWithGPS then the TCX files it gives you have coursepoints already added with the relevant 'turn left/right' etc. Also means you can use the 'distance to next' field which I find one of the most useful.

Slip systems are inherent to the symmetry of a crystal system. I expect, because of the reduced symmetry of an orthorhombic crystal, that it will have fewer slip systems and so the critical resolved shear stress of a random direction will be higher.

I went with these, they don't require as much force to put together and will fit through narrower holes (in frames/mudguard).

I have some. Probably 25L when strapped down to level. You can indeed leave them open/use the shoulder strap to extend the strap over the top. The roller plus ones are a nice improvement if you can find the old colourway, but not really otherwise worth the money.

Resin push heat back into the discs so I e always wondered what the point of fins is for them... I'd go sintered if you're riding all weathers and might have some gear on board. Prepares to be told I'm wrong
