That's the thing, it really isn't, it's just an enterprise solution that's now on par (although in a more stylish form factor) with PC offerings but because Apple haven't offered any enterprise solutions since they EOL'd Xserve and ditched the last cheese graters a lot people are understandably confused by how this fits in with Apples line up.

Even though it's small in terms of number there's still a significant part of the post industry that needs heavy iron for their workflow. Avid facilities use HP Z8 work stations that are pretty much the same price as the new Mac Pro, lots of these facilities (especially in the US) switched back to PC at the end of the last cheese grater mac and could switch back when they next refresh. I still know loads of post houses that cut with Avid on trash can macs that just wouldn't switch to PC even though it would have been much better for their workflow. I work with plenty of agencies that have endless freelancers retouching 4k footage in AE and these places are all exclusively mac and will definitely buy the new Mac Pro.
I'm not saying the it will be a success but there is definitely a market for it and a significant one at that.

So my Basil Portland has come apart after 18 months of abuse. It's a bit annoying but I have regularly exceed the maximum load so can't have too many complaints. Is the forum rack of choice still the pelago? Don't care how it looks but would like it to be as bomb proof as possible, also needs to mount on the axle bolt and be able to carry an ILE rack bag.

Well I've fallen down the internet rabbit hole of BBQ's! I'm looking at Kamado ceramic grills now, I was looking at building a pizza oven a while ago but decided it wasn't the best use of space in my garden, if these things can do grilling smoking and pizzas it would be perfect, although they're pretty spenny! Does anyone have one?

I'm on the hunt for a new bbq and I'd really like to start smoking as well, I've seen the pit barrel cooker https://www.pitbarrelcooker.com/ and from the reviews it looks like a good option, it's supposed to be pretty straight forward for someone that doesn't have a clue what they're doing (like me). Just wondered what people who knew thought?
Cheers

Can anyone recommend a tree surgeon to cut back a neighbour's tree to the boundary in E7? My neighbour is happy for them to trim back their side too as he's quite elderly and can't really look after it any more. I'd like to find someone that will do a nice job rather than just hack it back so happy to pay a bit more if needed.

Yes, the forum moans about price are from people who want a desktop mac pro that they can upgrade, what Apple have released is an enterprise workstation that costs more or less the same as other enterprise solutions on the market.
