Hey guys I've got a question about front mechs, didn't wanna start a whole new thread as I'm assuming it'll be answered fairly simply
I'm moving a 9sp Ultegra group over to an 80s Cougar frame I've got. Need a new braze-on front mech as the one I have is band-on. What do I need to check for in terms of compatibility? The rings are 53/39. Would the Sora 3500 mech work?
Cheers

Further to the advice dispensed in this thread (and some from elsewhere) - I'm currently looking closely at one of these. My biggest gripe is that (IMHO) it's pretty ugly, and the PX branding is doing it no favours whatsoever. However, everyone raves about PX in terms of performance/cost ratio, and FULL Ultegra 6800 does sound good...
If I were to get a (much much sexier) Cannondale CAAD10/SuperSix with 105, would the performance difference be that significant? It's shallow I know, but at least I'm being honest: I need to find my bike attractive to wanna get on it
The CAAD7 (Old 9 speed Ultegra) was the only road bike I've ever owned/ridden, so I'm not the most clued up in this respect, sorry!

Canyons always sat right at the top of the list, if there was a way to pay by cheque through their office (or in any other way) I would go for one in an instant.
Dan - what kind of spec should I expect to see on a CAAD10 for that money? I assumed they would be above my price bracket. Regarding the Nago, I think I need to just convince my shallow side it would be a daft purchase. My logical side already knows.
Thanks for everybody's input :)

Looking to replace my written-off Cannondale CAAD7 with a new roadie. Here is the (vague) criteria I'm working with:
- £1000-£1500
- Never owned carbon, so would like to try it - if not, alu (no steel plz)
- Ideally Shimano equipped for potential for upgrading and ease of maintenance (Will ride this a lot, through almost any weather, on the pavé & potholes of Brighton's streets)
So far my favourite is the Colnago AC-R, which, with full 105 group is just under £1400 on Wiggle in their Wiggle-Honda livery. Wanted a Nago since I was a lil laddy so to have one before I finish my degree would be lovely
Otherwise I've looked at Cannondale's Super 6 Evo, which is exactly the same money with 105 (FSA cranks tho)
Also looked at Canyon for their Ultimate AL & CF, but they don't take cheque which means I can't order it from them (which I believe is the only way of getting one)
I've got a £1000 cheque which needs to go to a bike retailer, the rest I can top up myself
Many thanks for any recommendations you could swing my way!
