i eat a vegan diet, i'm giving up refined sugar and most carbs.
questions:
1) what can i eat on rides to keep my energy levels up?2) what can i eat post ride or training that is high in protein?
i'm a pro baker so making/baking my own whatevers won't be a problem, just thought i'd ask for any pointers.
do all (whey-free) protein powders have sugar in them? is plain hella gross? what can i put in soy / pea protein to make it not gross? talk2me. chrzzz

ten points for jwesty! yes, sorry to say @edscoble i've tried 14 saddles and the SMP was The One but it's hideous. however - i'm over it now and soon as i sell the saddle i have now, i'm getting the SMP. hooray! my search is officially over after about 3 years.
so:
i'm selling my very new and virtually unused Specialized Power Pro - lovely and highly-regarded saddle but not right for me i'm afraid. this is one of Specialized's newest saddles and is pretty much unisex. i've heard nothing but good reviews of it.
it looks like this:

and comes with all the original packaging. RRP is £150, i'm selling for £130. can happily post for an extra couple of quid.

ha, not a stupid question. i had a basic idea of which ratios i could use that fulfilled the folloing criteria:
- ~50GI singlespeed and ~60GI fixed
- ergo max 4 teeth between fixed and ss cogs for flipflop (luckily pomp dropouts are fairly long)
- odd t fixed cog for max skid patches (arguably unnecessary but old habits etc)
i had a 44t on there to start with but you'd have to run a 19t cog and a 23t freewheel which is basically a dishplate. it's massive. do not want.
laner argued fairly convincingly for marginally better power transfer with a larger chainring when i joked about the marginal gains of running a smaller chainset and cog, but basically the biggest factor was that i just wanted a smaller one - i preferred the aesthetic. i don't have many standards when it comes to bikes but when i want something i'll do it.
@amey it was literally all i had in the house! i'm not abashed, they do the job
@andyp i'll keep it in mind (YAL and i could be pompino princesses together)! still ultra bruised from incredibly cross and then offroading all sunday
- ~50GI singlespeed and ~60GI fixed

at the behest of @youramericanlover even though i can't take a good picture to save my life:
built up a fun beater pompino for (fixed) commuting and sscx, couldn't find any black chainsets lower than a 42 lying around so at the moment it's silver but soon i'll replace with black and put some crabon forks on. currently testing some TVR paint for cole coatings - the pictures don't do it justice at all, it's a subtle intergalactic delight irl:

trackstanding at lights near my house this morning. goes green, i move forward, white van behind me rolls up alongside, puts his window down and says "you look really good on that bike" and gives me what i assume he thinks is a cheeky wink. gross. go away.
